Islander Automatic Watch with Leather Strap and an AR Dome Sapphire Crystal #ISL-53

The new Islander ISL-53 brings back the style of popular watch that is no longer available. The cosmetic differences are subtle but noticeable.The case is a very wearable 40mm in diameter and it is 13mm thick. Lug to lug (or tip to tip) measurement is 47.5mm. The crown is a signed screw-down type that enables a better water resistance rating of 100-meters.

Inside the case is an NH35, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. The ISL-53 has date displayed viewed at 3:00 on the dial.

The black dial has distinctive oversize hour makers like many WWII pilot watches. It is very easy to view the time at a glance. The hour hand, minute hand, and dial markings are all treated with C3 SuperLuminova. The seconds hand is painted orange for higher visibility and the lume dot has been made part of the pointer. You will note that the dial has excellent visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective dome sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches.

This model comes with a black leather strap with matching stitching and a signed stainless steel buckle. You can change up the look with a military-style nylon strap and any of our leather straps. The lug width is 20mm. 120mm x 75mm strap size.

    Watch is great! Shipped same day. My only complaint is the band is on the short side and I have to use the last hole for it to fit wrist. Will be ordering a band from LIW soon. Great product.

    This is the 2nd islander watch I have bought the first is an SKX0013 with Islander sauce (ISL # 05) bought second-hand in the UK. Superb and very precise (+ 6s / day) So I fell in love with this ISL53 which get all the point I like to make a good tool watch: a slender case, a screw-down crown, a chrystal glass, dimensions and a reasonable price; Well it’s a bit less precise (-14s / day) but the orange second hand animates the watch in a superb way; Thank you Marc for bringing us such watches ! I wear it in town and keep the SKX013 for the bush or to go on sea I mounted the satin Oyster bracelet, released shortly after for this watch (# BRAC-11).the whole is great ! It makes me happy every time I look at her; it really is the perfect everyday watch

    Were the watch not consistently losing a minimum of two minutes per day I would say the watch is excellent. I wonder if that problem can be remedied. My dealings with the company and The gentleman who owns this business have been in every respect otherwise beyond outstanding. I wish I could afford to buy another of his watch offerings.

    Beautiful and robust; 40mm size is the best; suits for different leather or nato strap. Waiting for an official steel bracelet then it will be perfect :)

    I can't get over how much I'm enjoying this watch. It's clean simple design is very satisfying and wearable. What I'm enjoying the most thus far is the crystal. It's my first AR coating and I can't get over how effective it is. From any angle it's crystal (sorry) clear. Winding the seiko movement is buttery smooth and the crown is big enough but not too big. This watch literally puts a smile on my face. Enjoy.

    My son saw my ISL-54 after I had modded it. He liked it so much that I was compelled to get him one for Christmas, and mod it for him. Only difference he wanted the date complication. He absolutely loves it!

    Great Watch and Service, Lousy USPS

    Once I finally got my watch, (it took the USPS 4 weeks to deliver it) I was really impressed by the build quality and attractiveness. You can tell that this watch was created by a "Watch guy", someone who loves watches and knows what makes for a great watch. This was my 1st Islander but it won't be my last!

    I bought the ISL-53 with date. High quality watch. Nice heft to it and wears great. The stock strap is good but didn't fit this watch for me. I put that strap on a different watch. I paired this watch with a grey sailcloth and it's perfect. Great lume and easy to read.
