Orient Automatic GMT (dual time) with Sapphire Crystal and Power Reserve #DJ05003W

Orient Automatic GMT (dual time) with Sapphire Crystal and Power Reserve #DJ05003W

This Orient watch is a dual time, GMT watch that gives you the ability to track two different time zones. In addition to the 12-hour hands and dial markers, the chapter ring is a 24-hour scale. A separately adjustable hand (with lumed tip) tracks the second time zone in GMT or military time. The Orient caliber 40P51 automatic movement is self-winding, and it can be hand wound and it has a hacking feature. A handy indicator at 12:00 shows you up to 40 hours of power reserve when fully wound. Date is at the 3:00 position on the dial. And, the dial is gorgeous with its guilloche and concentric grained textures. It gives the watch a little touch of opulence under the scratch resistant sapphire crystal.

The 42mm diameter stainless steel case has a brushed finish with polished accents. On the backside of the watch you will find an exhibition window for viewing the automatic movement. Finally, a rich looking brown alligator grained strap with a matching stainless steel buckle completes the elegant look.

Note: Hacking function means that the sweep or second hand comes to stop when you pull out the crown to set the time. This is useful for setting two or more watches to the exact same time.

    Beautiful elegant and classy !

Perfect size for me. Dial is gorgeous. Love the power reserve ! Accuracy is just fine. I've accumulated over 150 watches over the past 10 years. Some are nice but many are starting to look and feel like gargantuan glitzy ostentatious hockey pucks. I renewed my interest in collecting and recently acquired 4 Orients. Thanks Orient ! I have seen the light!

    Gorgeous watch!

I purchased this watch for my Husbands' birthday gift after seeing a youTube video from Long Island watch. The shipping time was amazingly fast (2 days I believe) and the watch itself is stunning! The cream multi patterned dial and blue hands are only just a few of the details that stand out and make the watch a beauty. My husband particularly loves the hand winding function and that the watch is GMT. The sapphire crystal gives the watch a Lovely finish and the leather strap with deployant clasp is very nice and wears well. Thank you Long Island watch for all your educational YouTube videos as well as providing amazing watches for a spectacular value!

Delivery time one week which was very good. Packaging robust and functional. Lovely looking watch for a Christmas present. 2nd purchase from Long Island watch with no issues. Unfortunately British customs add VAT before you can have it.

    Orient GMT Polaris review

Posted by Andrew on Nov 9th 2017

This watch is utterly beautiful; photographs cannot do it justice. It's so beautiful that when I look at it I forget to read the time! The GMT hand works exquisitely. I reckon mine is less than ten seconds fast in 24 hours, within spec and good for any clockwork movement. It's a bit big at 42mm, but lug-to lug it's only 48mm, so it's OK on my 7.5 inch wrist; I'd prefer 40mm. The leather strap is stiff, and very uncomfortable on its padded sections, and unless you brutally break it in, it will not let the watch sit comfortably on your wrist. I swapped it immediately for a navy blue NATO, which I wear in the "down-under" style: the security loop goes under my wrist so no excess length is bunched-up beside the watch. This NATO strap picks up the stunning blue of the hands and I think the combination is gorgeous. The NATO also minimizes the size of the watch on my wrist and lets it sit comfortably. This is definitely my best Orient, maybe better than my Orient Star.

    Most Excellent Watch

Love my new watch, the Orient Polaris. GMT, automatic, power reserve indicator, and hacking was my requirements. I am indeed fortunate that my new Orient includes all my requirements and is absolutely beautiful. I would not call this a "tool" watch. I have a gen 1 Orange Monster that is my "tool" Watch. The Polaris is definitely a looker and fills the needs of a dress watch in my opinion.

    Very happy customer

Posted by Joshua Lamb on Jun 4th 2017

This is my first watch and I am very happy with it. The detail of the dial and the blue hands are even more impressive in person than in photos. The watch is simple to operate and the manual explains everything adequately. I have not measured the accuracy but I have been wearing the watch for six days and the time still matches my phone. My only complaint is the leather strap was uncomfortable and my wrist size was in between hole sizes. I changed it out for a navy nato strap and it's a perfect match. Shipping to Australia was problem-free and very fast. Buy with confidence. Hopefully I can hold off for at least a year before buying a second watch.

    Fantastic Value

Posted by Chris W. on Jun 2nd 2017

This was my first Orient in my collection. I was drawn to the blue hands and the fact that it was a GMT. The watch feels very nice in the hands and has a very nice look to it. It definitely feels and looks more expensive than it is. The strap it came on, I wasn't a big fan of, but that is something that can be replaced for under $50 for a variety of different options. Even if you add in the cost of a new strap, this watch is still a great value. Currently mine is running at about +6 seconds a day. It looks great, runs great, and is a watch I highly recommend.
