Flat Sapphire Crystal to replace OEM on Orient Mako and Ray Gen. 1 and 2 #Ray-Flat

This is an after-market flat sapphire crystal that you can use to mod and upgrade your Orient Mako or Ray generation one or two watches. It does not fit Mako USA watches. The crystal is 3mm thick and 31mm in diameter. No anti-reflective coating.

“Good price, shipping wait time was quick. My local jeweler that use to be a full watch and jewelry repair center now ships everything out. So I did it myself. With a lot of patience, tedium and YouTube, I got it done. Polished and buffed the case when apart. Looks and runs great. I'm now a horologist.”

“Shipped quickly, beautiful, and easy to install! I had been thinking of replacing my Orient Mako II. Then I dropped it face down on a tile floor and broke the crystal and decided instead to make my old watch new again. I upgraded to this sapphire crystal and a bezel replacement from LIW and I couldn’t be happier.”

New Sapphire crystal for Orient Ray II

“When I ruined my Orient Ray II mineral crystal last month while doing a small home maintenance job, I was just crushed. So I purchased a new sapphire crystal from Island watch, then I purchased crystal press from harbor freight, watched 2 youtube videos on how to replace the crystal. An within 30 minutes after receiving the crystal from USPS, I removed the old mineral crystal and installed a beautiful new sapphire. The watch looks great. Thanks Mark , five stars from the South Carolina!”

“I've been waiting for upgrade parts for my Orient Mako 2, and finally they are here!

The polished coin edge bezel was a snap to swap out. It looks great and is easier to manipulate than the stock one. It ratchets well, though not as solid as the stock, but it's very close.

Also got the ceramic lumed SKX Pepsi bezel insert to replace my stock Pepsi aluminum insert. Came with an adhesive ring to install. Went in super easy and lined up great! The new Insert doesn't sit exactly flat in the new bezel, but I assume that's because of operator error. I've never taken a watch apart before, or put one back together.

Last, I got a flat sapphire crystal. Install was easy and looks awesome! I don't have a way to really pressure test it for water resist rating, but I don't dive, so I don't care.

Overall I couldn't be happier with the upgrades. I've always been a fan of my Mako 2, but I've worn it every day since I did the kids, and I couldn't be happier with it.

Wishing for Flat AR Options

“The packaging was so so, I had to remove lint and paper before install. There should be an anti-reflective coating option for the crystal. Fit and finish is nice. It works well on my Orient Ray 2. Options for gaskets and other parts related to a crystal replacement would be helpful. I went wish this over a CT crystal because I heard it may sit lower compared to the bezel, but no side by side to confirm. I can say though it’s like an OEM fit which is what I wanted. Thanks Mark and company.”

“i know it says clearly in the description that it does not have any AR coating and i thought it wouldn,t be that big of a deal, but it is! dont know why you didnt add it. but anyways, at least is an upagrade for the watch...”
