Islander Automatic Watch with Leather Strap and an AR Dome Sapphire Crystal #ISL-54

Bought this as my first Islander, it was something of an impulse decision. So amazed that I went and bought another model from the Islander lineup. Fit, finish, quality and versatility are out of this world here! It can be a dress watch with it's high polish case, but can be a tactile daily rugged timepiece as well. There is some back and forth on leather strap quality, though I am pleased. I acquired a deployment clasp to complete the ensemble, and it's quickly become one of my favorites!

You can’t go wrong with this watch; The specs are great i.e. dimensions are perfect for most of the wrists out there - especially mine ;-) , the movement is rock solid (NH35 w a ghost date position), sapphire glass, display case back w sapphire as well! (I did Marc’s “forehead test” to confirm) - but what I love the most is its simplicity and the legibility of this version (no date is real clean and symmetrical vs the “daty” version). Regardless of the underwhelming strap, it’s a Five Star b/c I would have lined up other straps to go with it anyways. I have both a Laco Pilot-style strap (bought it from Marc as well) and I also have a Hirsch ROBBY Orange-Black and both are fantastic with this watch aka strap-monster. If you’re hesitating, don’t.

I really enjoy this watch. Hasn't left my wrist in the last 2 weeks of having it. Simple fun no date watch, my first no date. Got it with the strap and bracelet. Currently have it on a rubber rally strap with orange accents to tie in with the second hand. Really makes everything pop! And I am amazed at the accuracy with the nh36a movement. It's spot on after the initial setting of time 2 weeks ago. My most accurate watch yet beating out my other watches at 10 times the price! Well regulated or just lucky. The loom is really good with the large numbers, indices and black hands. Definitely recommend picking one up if considering it. The pics don't do it justice on the site and I'd include one if there was an option to do so. Enjoy if purchasing one!

I had the watch for three weeks. It looks great and fits my 8 inch wrist nicely. The watch is fairly accurate. It loses 4 to 5 seconds every 24 hours. This is my first Islander. I plan on getting another one in the near future. Maybe a ISL field watch.

I saw this watch on Marc's YouTube channel and ordered it. The quality is great and is much better in my opinion than the seiko SARG011 it plays homage to. I put it on a orange/black silicon/nylon strap the matches perfectly. Keep up the great watches Marc. - Mark

Just got my ISL54 with bracelet and I could not be happier. Great quality and great looks for an amazing price. Definitely my new everyday wear!! Keep em' coming Mark!!

Tasteful and understated. Beautiful craftsmanship. Heavy-duty with low profile. Full range of versatility with bracelet swaps. Excellent entry-level Seiko automatic movement which is superior to the omnipresent, Swiss ETA (Swatch Group) equivalent, in accuracy and maintenance costs. Magnificent sapphire crystal which flashes blue when reflecting light source. Precise, heavy duty, screw down crown (don’t forget to unscrew it when you receive it to set and wind it). 100 meters depth. No flashy/cheesy/overpriced branding! At least a 400 dollar savings on any sapphire equipped equivalent. Brilliantly conceived for highly discerning people who, out of principle, refuse to pay for an expensive watch yet can’t shake their old school desire for high quality and simple elegance.

I love this watch. I like the simplicity of no date window. Some reviewers have said that the crown is hard to unscrew and screw back down, but the crown on my ISL-54 is fine. I've worn the watch non-stop for about 2 weeks, and it is very accurate. Repeat: I love this watch.

This is a great watch. The build quality is excellent and I lucked out with a Seiko NH that's running a +2 secs per day. The watch wears large with the clearest dial I've seen. On the bracelet, it's incredibly handsome. For the price, even with UK customs charges (£47), it's incredibly good value. It's a unique looking watch in my growing collection.
