Seiko Prospex Save The Ocean, Special Edition Baby Tuna "Antarctica" Dive Watch #SRPG59
The Seiko Prospex SRPG59 is a Save the Ocean model. Seiko donates a portion of the sales to the Fabian Cousteau centre. The watch has a crisp textured blue and white (ice-tone) dial with a a few winsome penguin feet. The movement is a reliable 24-jewel Seiko caliber 4R36 automatic that can be hand wound and hacked. The powerful Seiko LumiBrite luminescent material provides brilliant glowing properties for reading time in the dark. A nice touch on this new model is that the case back indicates that it is a special edition.
Lug width is 20mm. Case size is 43mm in diameter x 13mm thick and 44mm tip to tip. It has a Hardlex mineral crystal and a (120-click) dive bezel. The supple rubber strap is sort of a frost color with a slight bluish hue. It is a perfect match for the theme of this watch. Water resistant to 200 meters. Day and date window. Screw-down crown and caseback. Weight is 103 grams. 20mm lug width. Note: the 43mm case diameter tends to wear smaller due to the short lugs on this model. It is about 5mm shorter than the Seiko Monster version of this watch.
