Some of the Best Seiko Watches at Any Price Point

Seiko has been making clocks and watches since the late 1800’s and has always been an industry leader when it comes to innovation. From pioneering dive watches and the automatic chronograph to the groundbreaking quartz revolution, Seiko is at the forefront of horology. However, we would argue that what sets them apart from the competition is that they are the best at serving up quality watches at any budget. Whether you’re in high school looking for your first serious piece or a cane twirling oil prospector with a monocle, waxed mustache, and a disposable income, Seiko has you covered.

With that said, here’s a look at seven watches spanning different price points that we think are perfect examples of value and craft.

$200:

Seiko Classic Quartz Dress Watch SWR052 - This watch delivers on a classic style at a fraction of the price. Its slim profile and smaller dimensions make it a comfortable wear, and the perfect companion for dressy and casual occasions alike.

$300:

Seiko 5 Sports SRPD61 - Everyone should have a Seiko 5 in their collection. It’s not marketed as such by the gods, but it may as well be. Seiko comes out with so many variations and limited editions, that if you can’t find one you like in the lineup then there may just be no pleasing you.

Seiko Presage Cocktail Time SRPB77 - Seiko’s “Cocktail Time” series has been around for a few years and has made an indelible mark on the watch enthusiast community. First of all, nobody does dials like Seiko for the price. With its striated radial patterning and reflective blue handset, this particular model is truly hypnotic.

$500:

Seiko 5 Sports GMT SSK017 - This year Seiko revolutionized the watch market yet again by cutting the price for admission into the GMT complication way down. The SSK017 is one of the original color ways in that GMT lineup. A must have for a collector and anyone looking for a cool complication at a consumer-friendly price.

Seiko Arnie Prospex PADI SNJ027 - This is a reissue of the watch made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger in such movies as Predator and Commando. Do we really need to say more? If you wear this watch, you are cool by the transitive properties of pump-a-tude.

$700:

Seiko Speedtimer with Silver Dial SSC911 - There are many iterations of the Seiko Speedtimer, but few as rad as the silver dial variation. This solar-powered chronograph boasts 100m of water resistance (suck it, Speedy), with a fetching silver sunburst dial and grey/black bezel. Both classic and modern elements served up in a watch that you never have to worry about setting.

 Over $1,000:

Seiko King Seiko 110th Anniversary SPB365 - Treat yourself to one of the most beautiful dials we’ve ever seen at any price, period. The new King Seiko’s are icons reborn. The entire range is sophisticated and eye-catching, but this piece is our favorite of the bunch.
