Sicura Watches
Founded in Grenchen, Switzerland, in 1939, Sicura became one of the most innovative names in Swiss watchmaking during the 1960s and 1970s under the leadership of engineer and entrepreneur Ernest Schneider. Long before wearable technology became a reality, Sicura was developing watches that went far beyond traditional timekeeping: dive watches with patented multi-bezel systems and dual-crown architecture, jump-hour displays inspired by the Space Age, electronic and transistor-powered timepieces, early quartz concepts, solar-powered watches, LED and LCD displays, and even experimental models featuring functions such as cigarette consumption counters, built-in levels and miniature electronic computers. Driven by the philosophy of making innovation accessible, Sicura consistently introduced unconventional technical solutions at affordable prices. This pioneering spirit would ultimately lead Ernest Schneider to acquire Breitling in 1979, preserving one of Switzerland's great watchmaking names while leaving behind a remarkable legacy of innovation that continues to inspire Sicura today.
