Islander Hudson "Harpoon Diver" 40mm Watch with Degrading Sea Blue Dial #ISL-303

Introducing our latest Premium Diver, the Islander Hudson. The Islander Hudson is full of features that you normally do not find in watches at this price point, and also contains many Islander "firsts". . . and you will also find a recurring theme of Sharks, something we are no strangers to here on Long Island.

The 70's inspired case is 40mm in diameter, making it perfect for all wrist sizes. The dials have a shark pattern pressed into them, that becomes visible when you hold the watch at shallow angles. The markers are done in a boat hull shape, and they look like they are pulling at the center of the dial. The rehaut (chapter ring) is a rope pattern that also has a great lume effect. For more visual appeal, we also incorporated a lumed dial that provides a soft glow to highlight the feel of shark infested waters.

The minute hand of the Hudson is done in the shape of a harpoon (thus the moniker, Harpoon diver) and the counterbalance of the seconds hand has the silhouette of a shark swimming around. When the hour and minute hand are 180° opposed from each other, it makes the shape of shark harpoon. A date is located at 6, and yes, the date is luminous (another Islander first!). Covering the dial is a box sapphire crystal. The crystal provides a vintage feel to the watch.

Surrounding the dial is a 120 click, uni-directional ratcheting bezel topped with a vintage luminous curved sapphire insert, matched to the dial color. You'll notice a shark dorsal fin hidden in the blood-red bezel triangle. A coin-edge crown is screwed down to ensure 200 meters of water resistance, and contains a lumed Islander logo (another first for us!).

Securing the Hudson to your wrist is a 20mm bracelet equipped with quick release pins. The bracelet is brushed mesh, to match the top finishing of the case, and as you get near the clasp you have removable links that are held with screws. The bracelet tapers to 18mm at the clasp. The clasp is a tool-less micro-adjust, and the shark theme continues with etching of shark heads both on the clasp, and the extension mechanism.

Flipping the watch over, you will see a new custom caseback made specifically for the Islander Hudson. The shark reappears, this time breaching the water just beneath the Islander logo. The words "HELP!!! SHARK" are engraved on the outer portion of the caseback, and painted in Blood Red.
