Islander Brookville Hi-Beat Automatic Dress Watch with Grey Dial, AR Sapphire Crystal #ISL-39

This Islander watch has a classic and tasteful 38mm x 11mm stainless steel case design. The sides are polished and the top has a fine brushed finish. The sunburst grey dial features applied silver hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova. The sleek silver hands are also filled with Super-LumiNova for viewing the time in the dark. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal guards against scratches and provides you with an exceptionally clear view of the time and date. The bezel on the ISL-39 is smooth for a clean look.

The ISL-39 is powered by a 24-jewel, Hi-Beat (28,800 bph) Miyota 9015 automatic movement that is accurate and has predictable performance. You can hand wind it and it also hacks (seconds hand stops when crown is pulled out). Power reserve is rated at about 42 hours. The movement is visible via an exhibition window caseback. A date window is located at 6:00 to keep the dial balanced. Usually dress watches only come with 30 to 50 meters of water resistance - the ISL-39 is rated at 100 meters and includes a screw-down crown.

The watch comes with an elegant stainless steel bracelet with a push-button deployant clasp for easy on and off. The bracelet links are solid as are the end-links. The lug width is 20mm. Sizing is made easier with the use of a screws instead the more common pins.

This is my first Islander Watch. After owning it only a few days I can tell you with 100% certainty it will not be my last. Like all good watches, this watch looks better in person then it does in pictures. The folks at LIW clearly have a pulse on what watch people want. The size is perfect, the materials feel premium, and it has all the features a person could want (screw down crown, good water resistance, hacking, hand winding, great lume, etc. etc.). If I have one complaint about this watch it's that it looks equally good with a metal bracelet or a leather strap. Makes it touch to decide which to go with. I suppose if one is going to have a problem with a watch this is a good one to have!

Daily Wear / Dress Up or Down

I love this watch. I was concerned 38mm would be too small for my 7.25" wrist and surprisingly it's not. The bracelet feels great, the watch is very light, the micro adjustments and screw pins are really convenient and allowed for a perfect fit. I bought this wanting a dress watch but it's become a daily wearer. I like this grey more than the blue as it goes with anything. Highly recommended.

The watch is really nice. The quality for the price is great. The clasp on the band is a bit tight but I think that will loosen up over time. The bracelet is otherwise top notch. I really appreciate the screw pins and the overall quality. I'd buy again.

This is a great watch and a great value from Island Watch. The grey dial looks fantastic especially outdoor, the 38mm size is perfect for me, the bracelet & clasp are also solidly built, very easy to adjust and also look great. The crown is also nicely done in term of size (not too small, not too big) and is easy to use. But what astonish me is the accuracy of the movement, I've been wearing this watch 24/7 since I received it about three weeks ago and I'm getting roughly one second fast per day. I know Miyota 9015s are accurate but this is COSC level accuracy. So all in all a great watch and a great value and in my case it's my chronometer watch.

Its a nice looking watch. Well built with a sweet movement And the perfect size. Everything I want in a Everyday wear. More on the dress side with fluted bezel but mark makes another watch with it. I also heard he's coming out with parts for it and I'll be definitely buying the bracelet. And when the black dial with smooth bezel comes out I'll definitely buy it. The lume is fine for the price of watch. lume is expensive so I'm happy with what its got. Mark makes great watches for the money you get more then what other companies do...like seiko lol. Another home run from islander.
