This Islander dive watch has a unique tsunami wave dial. The wave dial is fully coated with SuperLuminova for a fully glowing dial in the dark. The MM-Style hands are painted blue to stand out on the luminous dial. The 120-click uni-directional sub-style bezel has a scratch-resistant blue 12-hour marked ceramic insert that is treated with SuperLuminova. The bezel serves as the hour markers instead having markers on the dial. It is also possible to use the bezel to track a second time zone. The dial has enhanced visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective dome sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches. Note: there is no day-date window to interrupt the wave image on the dial.

The ISL-68 has a familiar rounded case with an off-set crown at 4:00. The stainless steel case diameter is 40mm with a thickness of 13.5mm. Tip to tip it is a very wearable 44mm. Note that the lug ends are drilled for easier bracelet to strap changes. The case back has a rendering of Long Island on it along with the Islander name, Island Watch and 200 meter water resistance.

Powering the ISL-68 is a reliable NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound.

The bracelet features all solid links and solid end links. Plus it has a milled scissor push-button flip-lock deployant clasp with three position micro-adjustment. For sizing the bracelet, screws are used for removing bracelet links instead of pins. For sizing the bracelet, screws are used for removing bracelet links instead of pins.

    Great wave great watch

    Being a fan of Japanese woodblock prints, I had to have it since I saw it. Island has rendered in a watch face a reasonable copy of The Great Wave prints. Plus a good solid watch. Feels good on the wrist. Makes for a great beach watch. When fully lined, it's a definite conversation starter. I consider this the classic Islander watch. Thanks again for the quick, efficient service.

    This is a fun little watch that I just added to my collection. The watch is well built for the price and the size was perfect. I really enjoy the color and uniqueness of the dial as well.

    Clean beautiful dial, Perfect size case, Extremely comfortable to wear and an eyecatcher topped with high spec construction and good prize. If Marc keeps up producing this kind of watches I may need a divorce lawyer.

    I don't particularly like diver's watch or boring dials. Lucky for me the ISL-68 is neither of them. It's a bit heavier and chunkier than expected but this is not really an issue. OTOH (beside having there five fingers), the watch feels solid and well built. The bracelet was easy to size for my wrist and the bezel rotation is extremely smooth - which caused a moment of panic as it took me a bit of time to realize that there are indices on the chapter ring with which to align the bezel. And then there is the dial which is the reason why I bought the ISL-68 and it doesn't disappoint a bit. I approve the decision to keep it clean of a date window and hours markers. I like it just as it is.

    The best looking Diver!

    I had one reservation about this watch and that was the case. From the pictures and YouTube video the case seemed oversized for the dial. But once holding the watch in my hands, I was amazed how well proportioned this watch actually is and this watches party piece is its lum.

    Love the watch and great service. Fantastic lume! There's a little bit of play with the bezel and it would help if the hour hash marks on the chapter ring were a little bigger to help re-alignment of the hours bezel. These were really minor issues, though. I would have selected 4.5 stars, were that an option. A fun little piece. Thanks, Marc & team!

    I purchased this watch because of the unique design- very different from others in my watch collection. The colors on the face aren’t as bright as I thought they would be but I’m still very happy it.
