Islander Automatic Dive Watch with Pilot-Style Dial, AR Sapphire Crystal, Luminous Ceramic Bezel Insert and Bracelet #ISL-91

The popular Islander dive watch is now available with a pilot-style black dial. The pilot-style dial is a bit easier to read at a glance. Seiko made a similar model years ago called the Spork that is highly sought after on the used market. The new ISL-91 features a 43mm case with an offset screw-down crown at 4:00. Thickness is 14mm and tip to tip it is a very wearable 46mm (i.e. looks big, but doesn't wear big on your wrist). Note that the lug ends are drilled for easier bracelet to strap changes. The case back has a rendering of Long Island on it along with the Islander name, Island Watch and 200 meter water resistance.

Inside the case is an NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound.

The black pilot-style dial has SuperLuminova on the hands and hour makers. The 120-click uni-directional bezel has a scratch-resistant black (
diver marked) ceramic insert that is also treated with SuperLuminova for a maximum glow-in-the-dark experience when the lights go down. It is quite bright and long lasting.

The dial also has enhanced visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective flat sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches. The anti-reflective coating is on the underside of the sapphire and it imparts a bluish hue at some viewing angles.

And, lastly you get a beefy bracelet with solid links, solid end links and a dual push-button flip lock deployant clasp with three position micro-adjustment. For sizing the bracelet, you will find screws are used for removing bracelet links instead of pins.

NOTE: The Islander dive and dual-time watch is compatible with aftermarket parts available at Island Watch (and elsewhere) for the SKX007 models, such as crystals, bezels, inserts, chapter rings, dials, hands, bracelets, etc.

    ISL-91

Beautiful timepiece. I am happy I discovered Island Watch. I was in the market for an automatic and at this early stage of use I am very satisfied. The only negative thus far is that the lume does not last long at all.

    ISL-91

I insisted my friend get an ISL Spork instead of going for actual Seiko, Lol. He loves it, the time keeping is also excellent. extra screw driver included was a fantastic touch. I was comparing it to my SPB103 and the only thing Seiko have over ISL is the case finishing and the 6r35, besides that ISL for the win.

    Spork Homage

i bought a Seiko SRP043K2 (aka "Spork") here in 2011 and it remains just about my favorite watch. How could i resist? This watch wears a little smaller and a little smoother. My only tiny quibble is with the crown guards: the extend lower then i think the should and make it tricky to unscrew the crown.

This is the watch I've been waiting for

Yes this watch has all the great features with the anti-reflective sapphire and the SuperLuminova and the drilled lugs and the milled clasp and the link screws, but... a Spork dial in an SKX case? Are you kidding me? I don't think I've ever clicked ADD TO CART so fast. Looks amazing in person and feels great on the wrist.
