Certainly a rare find, here is the first Islander watch featuring a mother of pearl dial. The ISL-133 features a very versatile 40mm case, and a mesmerizing black mother of pearl dial. Depending on how the light shines on it, there are a multitude of colors that shine back, giving the watch a very mysterious appearance.
Beating within is a true no-date movement, the Seiko NH38, which features handwinding and hacking, as well as a 40 hour power reserve. Ensuring the 100 meters of water resistance is a screw down crown with Islander logo.
Rectangular applied indices on the dial help to mark the passage of time, and they are filled with Super-LumiNova C3 material, which glows a very nice green color when the lights go down. Sword hands get the same treatment, and a non-lumed seconds hand beats effortlessly 6 times per second. The Islander logo on the dial is luminous as well.
Turning the watch over, you can view the movement in action, thanks to the sapphire exhibition caseback. Securing it to your wrist is a non-descript black leather strap, with a 20mm lug width.
