Islander DLC Aviator Automatic Watch with Full Lume B-Dial #ISL-182

The Islander ISL-182 is an Aviator-Pilot style watch with a Type-B dial. The case is a very wearable 42mm in diameter and it is just 12mm thick. It is plated with DLC, that gives it a matte black appearance and resists scratching. Lug to lug (or tip to tip) measurement is 48mm. The screw-in case back has the silhouette of an F-14 fighter jet etched into it. The iconic F-14 was manufactured by the Grumman company on Long Island and it was featured in the movie Top Gun.

Inside the case is a Seiko NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. There are no date mechanics in the movement, so there is no ghost clicking.

The dial has been treated with BGW9 Super-LumiNova for a cool blue glow-in-the-dark experience. The sword-style hands and hour makers are painted black, so they pop against the fully lumed dial. The dial is unbranded like many of the vintage WWII offerings. The Islander ISL-181 features a Type-B dial with a clearly marked 60-minute scale and inner Arabic numerals. You will note that the dial has excellent visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches.

This model comes with a black leather strap with contrasting stitching. The buckle is signed and DLC plasted. You can change up the look with a military-style nylon strap and any of our leather straps. The lug width is 22mm.

The ISL-182 aviator watch features a screw down crown which provides a water resistance rating of 100 meters.
