The Islander Roslyn can be summed up in two words – Dressy Diver. Whether you are spending the day lounging by the water, or going out to dinner, the Roslyn has you covered. The case measures just 41.5mm from 2:00 to 8:00, but maintains excellent wrist presence with the left and right side case protrusions (which measure about 46mm across). The case itself is 47.5mm from lug to lug, and is just 13.7mm thick from the embossed screwdown caseback to the scratch resistant sapphire crystal.

The dial of the Roslyn is extremely legible, with Arabic numbers applied at the even positions around the dial. Simple applied batons are used for the odd numbers. There is no date window to offset the amazing dial symmetry. At the top of the dial, the Islander logo and text is applied, as are the “Automatic” and water resistant callouts on the bottom half of the dial. Simple baton hands are used to tell the time. Super-LumiNova C3 compound is used on the hands, numbers and indices to read the time in low light.

The bezel of the watch is a 120 click unidirectional ratcheting bezel. The dive insert is color matched ceramic, and is filled with contrasting paint. The caseback of the watch is solid, and embossed with the “Islander Lighthouse” design. The crown is screwdown, which ensures the 200 meters of water resistance.

The watch is powered by the Seiko NH38 movement, which does not have a date function (true no-date). The movement beats at 21,600 beats per hour, and handwinds as well as hacks (seconds hand stops when setting the time).

The Islander Roslyn is secured to your wrist with a solid link, solid endlink bracelet. The lug width is 20mm, and tapers down to 16mm at the clasp. The bracelet is sized with screws. The Islander ISL-167 has a rich, radiant blue dial. The knurled bezel is plated in yellow gold, as is the matching knurled crown. The two-tone bracelet matches the two-tone case perfectly, and the bezel insert relief is filled with glittering gold paint.
