Islander Sands Point Titanium Diver with Blue Wave Dial #ISL-159

Introducing our first titanium watch, the Sands Point. Named after the village on the North Shore of Long Island, the Sands Point diver weighs in at a mere 108 grams! Compare that to the 175 grams that a normal steel diver on bracelet weighs. The moment you pick it up, you will think your eyes are tricking you, as it feels much lighter than you anticipate. We have sandblasted the case of the watch to give it a dull gray appearance, but the watch is anything but dull. The bezel is also done in sandblasted titanium, as well as the outer portion of the deployant clasp.

This version has an intricate blue wave pattern embossed in the dial. Using gun metal polished hands and markers, all filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova, means the watch is easy to read both in daytime and nightime when the hands and indices glow a cool blue. For a pop of color, the tip of the seconds hand has been painted orange to match the ISLANDER text on the dial. Protecting the dial is a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, with inner anti-reflective coating to keep the glare to a minimum.

Surrounding the dial is a 120 click uni-directional ratcheting bezel use to time your dives, or your laundry. The bezel insert is brushed ceramic, to match the dull appearance of the case, and the markings are filled with BGW9 Super-LumiNova that glows blue at night. For a small extra detail, the triangle at 12:00 is coated with epoxy to give it a shine when light hits at the right angle.

Powering the Sands Point is the Seiko NH38 movement. This automatic movement features hand winding and hacking, and a 40 hour power reserve. You will notice there is no date window on the watch; the NH38 is a true no-date movement. Thus, there is no ghost position or ghost click when you set the time. Speaking of operating the crown, it is screwdown for a full 200 meters of water resistance.

Securing the Sands Point to your wrist is a fitted end FKM rubber strap, that tapers from 22mm at the lug to 18mm at the buckle. The deployant buckle is a 6 position micro-adjust so you can finetune the fit. Fits 6" to 9" wrist size.

The Sands Point is based off the SKX007 platform, therefore straps, bezel inserts, hands and crystals made for the SKX007 will fit.
