Description
Built for people who build things.
In the trades, there's no shortcut to respect. You put in the years, you put in the work, and eventually the work speaks for itself. That's the idea behind this collaboration between Islander and Carl Murawski, a licensed electrician who's spent 21 years in the trade and built one of the biggest platforms in the country speaking honestly to tradesmen, skilled laborers, and anyone who works for a living.
Only 100 of these exist, and every one is individually serialized on the caseback. Your number is yours alone.
The Watch
We started with a case built to work as hard as its wearer: 41.7mm across, 13.8mm thick, 51.4mm lug to lug, in stainless steel. Drilled lugs make strap swaps quick and toolless. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters / 328 feet, so rain, sweat, a dock at the lake house, or washing up at the shop sink are never a concern — this is a watch that goes from the jobsite to the water without missing a beat.
The dial takes its cue from the fabric of the trades themselves. It's finished in a deep, textured denim blue with real woven grain, an unmistakable nod to the workwear this community has built its reputation on. A bold, dive-style layout with Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 keeps it legible at a glance, and Carl's signature is printed on the dial alongside the "328 ft Automatic" designation. Hour markers, the arrow-tipped minute hand, and hour hand are filled with C3 Super-LumiNova for a strong low-light glow, while the bezel pip runs BGW9 for a crisp point of reference in the dark. The unidirectional bezel is a 120-click coin-edge design with a scratch-resistant sapphire insert, built to take a beating and keep timing accurate no matter how it's used.
The crown is hexagonal — a deliberate echo of the nuts and bolts this audience turns for a living — sized at 6.6mm and stamped with the Islander logo. Of course it is a screw-down type to ensure water resistance. Flip the watch over and you'll find a solid stainless steel screwdown caseback, embossed and fitted with a sapphire window to view the movement inside. That movement is the Seiko NH35: automatic, hand-winding, and hacking, so setting the time is as precise as any job that demands it.
On top, a flat sapphire crystal with inner AR coating keeps the dial legible from every angle and resistant to scratches for the long haul. The watch rides on a 20mm FKM blue rubber strap with a signed pin buckle — built for sweat, sun, and solvents, not just a Sunday watch box. All in, the watch weighs 138 grams on the wrist and is backed by a 1-year warranty.
About the Collaborator
Carl Murawski is a licensed electrician and lifelong tradesman with 21 years in the electrical trade and 26 years of blue-collar work behind him. He built his YouTube channel to cut through the noise around workwear and tools — honest boot and gear reviews with no sponsorship spin, no fluff, no BS. But the channel has grown into something bigger than gear talk: a platform for trades culture, working-class pride, and the case for skilled labor as a real, respected career path. With hundreds of thousands of subscribers and tens of millions of views, Carl has become one of the loudest and most trusted voices telling tradesmen their work matters — and that dignity in the trades isn't something you have to apologize for.
This watch is for anyone who's put in the years to earn their trade, and anyone who respects the people who have.
