This is a new GMT model from the Mountain Wave Project series of Junkers watches. It comes with a Swiss Ronda 505.24H quartz movement, a second independently adjustable time zone (GMT function via Red Tip Hand), date window at 3:00, SuperLuminova treated hands and markers, blue dial, 24 hour display for 2nd time zone and a mineral crystal. Includes a stainless steel bracelet with a deployant clasp. Packaged in original Junkers tin.Mountain Wave Project:
The history of the Mountain Wave Project that Junkers sponsored tells the story of two courageous glider pilots who flew over Mount Everest (8848 metres) at icy temperatures as low as -46° and, together with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), undertook the first 3D measurement of the mountain, in order to identify better rescue routes for mountain climbers, amongst other things. Junkers extraordinary automatic chronograph, the "Mount Everest", which was designed specifically for this project, has a dial so blue that it mirrors the sky that surrounds the highest peak on our earth.
