There are pilot watches. And then there are pilot watches from Laco. As one of a few exclusive companies the workshop in Pforzheim can look back on a long tradition. Whereas in the 1940s a Laco was an indispensable tool in the cockpit, today it is an expression of freedom. With a Laco pilot watch you are not only wearing a precise and robust watch on your wrist, but also a piece of history.

Regardless of which Laco pilot watch you choose, all models have one thing in common: a legendary history. In the 1940s only a handful of companies received permission to manufacture aviator watches. One of them was Laco. The detailed requirements laid down for observation watches for the German Air Force were formulated by the Ministry of Aviation under the classification "FL 23883". This number stood for "navigation devices" and could also be seen on each watch on the opposite side of the winder.

The Pilot Watches Special Models Köln from Laco is a robust and stylish timepiece crafted with a stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter, a lug width of 20mm, and a height of 12mm. It is water resistant up to 20 ATM and features a double-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, as well as a sapphire crystal caseback. A unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel and a protected, screwed-down crown further enhance its durability. The watch dial is matte black with Arabic numerals and indexes coated in Super-LumiNova C1 for enhanced legibility, designed in accordance with the classic B-Uhr Baumuster A style. The hands are thermally blued for the hour and minute, while the second hand is matte black—all treated with Super-LumiNova C1 for visibility in low light. Powering the watch is the automatic Laco 200 movement, based on the Sellita SW 200-1 Elaboré grade, featuring 26 jewels, three hands, and a hacking seconds function. It comes fitted with a Stainless steel bracelet, folding clasp with safety clip, measuring 20mm in width. The total weight of the watch is 173 grams, and it is presented in a gift box along with a protective cardboard outer box.
