Whereas in the 1940s a Laco was an indispensable tool in the cockpit, today it is an expression of freedom. Regardless of which Laco pilot watch you choose, all models have one thing in common: a legendary history. In the 1940s only a handful of companies received permission to manufacture aviator watches. One of them was Laco. The detailed requirements laid down for observation watches for the German Air Force were formulated by the Ministry of Aviation under the classification "FL 23883". This number stood for "navigation devices" and could also be seen on each watch on the opposite side of the winder.

The Pilot Watches Special Models Köln Grau by Laco is a rugged and refined pilot watch featuring a dark sandblasted stainless steel case with a diameter of 41mm, a lug width of 20mm, and a height of 12mm. It is water resistant up to 20 ATM and equipped with a double-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, along with a sapphire crystal caseback. The unidirectional rotating ceramic bezel and the protected, screwed-down crown add to its functionality and durability. The matte black dial is designed in the traditional B-Uhr Baumuster A style, with Arabic numerals and indexes coated in Super-LumiNova C1 for optimal visibility in low-light conditions. The watch hands include thermally blued hour and minute hands and a matte black second hand, all filled with Super-LumiNova C1. At its core is the automatic Laco 200 movement, based on the Sellita SW 200-1 Elaboré grade, featuring 26 jewels, three hands, and a hacking seconds function. It is paired with a black water-repellent Fibertech strap with a matching dark sandblasted stainless steel buckle, also 20mm wide. The watch weighs 88 grams and comes packaged in a stylish gift box with an additional cardboard outer box.
