Squale Montauk 300 Meter Swiss Made Automatic Dive Watch with Blue Sand Dial #MTK-12

The Squale Montauk was originally released in December of 2020. It's back, this time with an upgraded dial and handset. The nickname given to the watch, Montauk, is a popular tourist destination at the east end of Long Island, NY.

Montauk is known for its beaches, fishing and strong Atlantic surf. It has a historical 1796 landmark lighthouse that houses documents signed by George Washington. It is also known for the mysterious Camp Hero State Park (once a U.S. WWII Military base) and for the Montauk monster found washed up on a beach back in 2008.

The case diameter for the Squale MTK-11 is 38mm and it's 12mm thick with a lug to lug measurement of 46mm. The case is made from 316L stainless steel that features a combination of polished and satin finishes. The screw-down caseback has an etched Squale logo and the screwdown crown has an embossed version of the logo. Water resistance is an impressive 300 meters.

The Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 powers the watch and it handwinds and hacks, with a power reserve of about 40 hours. There is no date window on the dial to keep it super clean, and the texture is reminiscent of a sand beach. The uni-directional diver marked bezel has a K1 mineral insert with a vintage colored Super-LumiNova triangle marker. The hands and markers are generously filled with C3 Super-LumiNova to really make the time legible at night. To enhance dial clarity, Squale uses a flat sapphire crystal that has an anti-reflective coating on the inside surface. The watch comes with an Italian rubber strap and polished buckle.
