Squale continues to innovate, exploring new technologies for wristwatches. Here we have the T183 Carbon. It consists of a forged carbon case with a 316L stainless steel insert (into which the crystal is pressed and caseback is screwed). The process begins with high tensile strength carbon fiber being impregnated with epoxy resin. The resultant ingot is milled to the precise dimensional requirements. This leaves you with a beautiful matte finish carbon exterior, which has a color reminiscent of charcoal. But the technology doesn't end here.
Squale uses an Elabore grade Swiss Made Sellita SW200-1 movement, which has been regulated at the Sellita factory. The movement hand winds, hacks and has a 40 hour power reserve. A screw down crown ensures a full 600 meters of water resistance. Covering the matte grey dial is a flat, anti-reflective scratch resistant sapphire crystal. Completing the dive look is a functional 120 click uni-directional, ratcheting bezel. An accented color minute hand ensures it is easy to read the time, as well as the use of Super-LumiNova for low-light visibility.
Securing the watch to your wrist is a very interesting "rubberized leather" strap. The strap consists of genuine leather that has been encased in rubber, making it the ideal water sports strap. Edge coloring matching the minute hand adds a bit more color.
This is the upgraded T183 model from Squale that has a carbon fiber dial and carbon fiber bezel insert - a first for Squale.
