Squale 200 meter Classic Swiss Automatic Dive watch with Sapphire Crystal #Y1545SILVE.AC

The Squale 1545 Classic is a 200 meter diving watch with a rich black dial with white SuperLuminova treated hands and hour markers. Features include a domed sapphire crystal, a uni-directional rotating ceramic black divers bezel with a pip (luminous dot) at the top, an large easy-grip, screw-down crown at 3:00, a 40mm diameter 316L stainless steel case, a screw-in case back, and a signed SEL stainless steel bracelet with diver extension. Note: the bracelet now has screws for sizing the bracelet and not push pins. The watch is made in Switzerland and it is powered by a Sellita SW200-1 automatic (self-winding) movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The watch comes in a nice display box, with papers and it is covered by a 2-year Squale international warranty.

“This Squale had some of the worst lume I've ever seen on a diver watch. It came off as a dull and very sickly green, that lasted on average about 10 or so minutes before becoming impossible to see. Out of the box the watch was 13 seconds fast per day, but after a few minutes of regulation got down to just 2 seconds fast per day. Bezel alignment is perfect if you physically hold it against the mechanical stop, but the bezel on mine wanted to settle just after the marker. I hope that I was just unlucky and got a poor example, but with only one example to base my review off of, three stars is all I can give, especially at this price point. Despite all that it's still a great looking watch, and if you don't care about lume at all, is a great entry point into Swiss timekeeping.”

“The watch is solid and beautiful. But the screws on the bracelet were so tightly wound in that I could barely get it sized. It took 2 watch screwdrivers to get 2 screws out. The rest of the screws are chewed up. I will need to order a second bracelet for the 1545. I love the watch, Island Watch is great, but Squale is really delivering bad on the bracelet screws.”
