The Mako USA collection is the newest rendition of Orient’s benchmark sport dive watch. With suggestions from watch forums and the watch community, the Mako USA has been updated with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, solid end links, and a 120-click diving bezel. In addition, this exclusive new model's hands and markers are coated with high grade Nemoto LumiNova® pigment which provides bright, and longer lasting luminosity for low light and total darkness.

The Mako USA has a screw down crown and a screw-down quick day change button. It also comes on a very well designed and comfortable to wear stainless steel bracelet. The bracelet features a dual push-button deployant clasp for amazingly easy on and off. And, the solid end links provide a more stable fit at the lugs. Includes a luminous PIP on the bezel and a day and date window at 3:00 on the dial. The 41.5mm stainless steel case is a size almost anyone can wear. The watch has a great wrist presence and the quality far exceeds the price.

    It's as good as it looks

    Since I've only had this watch for (let's see, according to the watch...) 18 hours, this review is more for Island Watch than the watch itself. First, I'm glad I jumped on the sale when I did - as they are all sold out at this price. And second, it arrived three days from the time it was shipped, and in excellent shape. The watch itself is exactly as pictured. As another reviewer noted, the dark blue dial and bezel will look different depending on the lighting. The watch itself has a solid feel, and was easy to size (if you have a tool - don't try to use a needle or you will scratch the hell out of the band, or worse, the case). For the first twelve hours it kept perfect time, but I'll update you all on how the accuracy is over the next few months. For my first experience with Orient, and with Island Watch, I would have to say I am a very happy customer.

    Ordered the Orient Mako USA blue because the white was sold out. But overall great watch, great color and great comms from Island Watch in regards to my purchase. Will definitely be a returning customer, only one thing I hope Island Watch would do is send the warranty cards with the watch rather than sending us a note telling us our warranty is through you. I am living in Australia and if possible it would be great if there was some partnership with local watch brands for servicing or warranty purposes.

    I've only recently gotten into automatic watch collecting. This was my very first purchase from my list of watches that I plan to acquire as I 'move up the ladder'. My first reaction was it has a great weight & quality feel to it. The style, power reserve, & lume are all outstanding. If I was forced to find something to complain about, it would be that the bracelet, unlike with any of the other watches that I currently own, seems to catch on my arm hairs and that I wish it was manually windable. Really nit picky stuff for a watch that sells for a price where you just can't go wrong. Heck, I might buy another one in a different color!
