This is an very nicely crafted watch, with a simple style of design that works very well for me. I wear it almost daily, at work and in casual settings. The leather strap is sturdy and thick, but softened up easily and fits comfortably. The face is easy to read in most lighting. The glow doesn't do much for me in the dark, but that's not really an issue for me. I've never had an automatic before, and I do really like the convenience of not having to wind it--and knowing I'll never have to replace the battery. One thing I didn't realize was that the automatic movement is powered by a ball bearing(s?) that you can hear rolling around inside. This worried me a little until I realized that it was by design. I have noticed that this watch runs a little fast--it may run ahead 2 or 3 minutes over a 2 week span. That's not enough to cause me trouble in my use of it, and easy enough to correct. I would recommend this watch.

One of the few straps I haven't replaced. Perfect size and sits on my wrist nicely (6.5" wrist). Longisland is great too.

This watch is fantastic - love the easy-to-read "B" type dial and the blue face. At first I was looking at the black face/black case version but I love the blue one. The strap is a bit thick and stiff but I ordered a blue/grey/black NATO band with the watch (was $10 from Island Watch) that goes great with the blue face. Keeps decent time so far and power reserve seems good. This is going to be one of my favorite watches.

I've received many compliments on this watch. I opted for the blue face. Go read the reviews, people love this Japanese interpretation of the Flieger (German for flight) type B style watch. I swapped-out the perfectly nice band it came with for a brown Hirsch Liberty.

This is the third Orient watch I have bought from Long Island Watch. The Aviator is fantastic - more than I had hoped for. The dial is well balanced and easy to read and stylish. This is a Fliergeruhr B style dial. Some criticize the Orient logo and the cursive writing at the 6 position. Up close it isn't distracting and adds character in my opinion. The hands are a unique shape and add to the visuals. My son has the Seiko 5 Military version, which is a similar style. The Orient Aviator has a bigger dial and is a little easier to read for older eyes. The forums generally give high marks for Orient and its movements. My experience with them has been good so far and I expect no different with the Aviator. Long Island Watch speed and customer service are top notch. Ordered this on Friday evening and had it in hand Monday evening (week of Christmas). New York to south of Seattle. Kudos! I'm a happy camper.

This is a great watch! Great size, not to big, not to small. I really like the pilot style face. I'm very pleased with long island watch! Excellent price and good service.
