Brillier 43mm Airborne Automatic Watch with Horween Leather Strap #BR-01

The Brillier Airborne watch is assembled in the USA by Fine Timepiece Solutions, in Fountain Hills, Arizona. This is a state of the art assembly facility meeting the highest standards, employing Master Watchmakers (including CMW21, a rare certification).

This new Brillier aviation-inspired watch features an intriguing blue hue dial and vintage styled hands and hour markers. The hands and hours are triple-layered with Swiss SuperLuminova for reading the time in the dark. The dial is very easy to read even at a glance. A hardened mineral crystal is used and it has been treated with an anti-reflective coating to further increase the clarity of the dial.

The 43mm case design houses a Miyota 21-jewel, caliber 8215 automatic (self-winding) movement. The movement is tested for time rate, beat error and amplitude in three positions. It is checked for power reserve, and a running test is performed in three positions. It has been regulated to +/- 10 seconds in 3 positions. The case is also tested for water resistance.

The watch comes fitted with a Horween leather strap that is hand made in the U.S. by Jack Foster. Tie-off stitching is done at the lug ends. Stainless steel closure. The watch comes in a Brillier leather pouch that is made in the U.S.

Great looking watch

The watch looks great. Very nice leather strap. No time will tell (haha) how durable it is. Watch case is well finished. Case back has an attractive etching. I do wish it was a transparent case back. I do enjoy looking at watch movements.

If only had sapphire

Purchased for my father. Its a beautiful looking watch but had too return. He felt it was over priced for what you get. Yes I agree. Its a beautiful watch but for the price should def have a sapphire and at least a nh35 seiko movement. If u can live without its a beauty.

Beautiful watch

I'm extremely impressed with this watch. The dial is gorgeous, the movement is running beautifully, and the strap is so much better than what you normally get in this price range. It's exactly the type of strap I would have bought for this watch had it not already been included, but I guess I do have one negative. I wish the strap tapered, but that's really getting nit-picky. I'm glad to support a company that is striving to bring watchmaking back to the U.S. I'd say the Airborne is a solid step in the right direction.

This watch is fantastic! It has it all. The case, dial, hands and strap are perfect. My only reservation was the movement, but after wearing it several weeks, that is no longer a consideration. And the Long Island service is second to none! Thanks for doing a video on the Airborne Mark, that sealed the deal for me.

Overall watch review

I love this lower end watch for everyday wear! It looks and feels great. I caution you to realize that the movement does not hack and the winding rotor has a grinding noise as it spins. Additionally, if you are sensitive to odors, the leather strap, although nice looking, has a very strong musty leatherly smell. Hopefully the smell will disipate over time. Another strap/band option might be nice to offer. And finally I noticed that the watch comes in an awkwardly oversized snap leather pouch. Other than the pouch offering some protection for shopping, I fail to see a purpose for such a pouch. What a waste of good leather.
