Introducing Marathon's first collaboration with another watch brand . . . the Marathon x Islander Special Edition Navigator. This special edition is loaded with firsts. . . it is Marathon's first white dial Navigator as well as being the first time Marathon has used blue tritium tubes in a watch. The stark white dial is marked with Arabic numbers for the 12 hour time, and an inner 24 scale is also present. To provide a pop of color on the stark dial, an orange seconds hand is used. The caseback is marked with the Marathon and Islander logos. 250 units of this model were produced, and the serial number is etched on the caseback.

First developed by Marathon Watch Company in 1986, the Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz was developed as a request by Kelley Air Force Base for a watch which could be used at high altitude, withstand extreme changes in pressure and altitude, as well as be an easy to read timepiece for a pilot. Marathon fulfilled this with the Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz. Made from a specialized fibershell case that is water resistant to 6 ATM, sweat and shock resistant, as well as lightweight. Note: The 12-hour bi-directional bezel can be used track a second time zone.

The Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz is made in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Powered by a Swiss made, high torque, 3 jewel ETA F06 quartz movement, the Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz guarantees you a high degree of accuracy in timekeeping. The ETA F06 movement is accurate to -0.3/+0.5 seconds per day and also includes an End of Life (EOL) indicator that will advance the seconds hand once every 4 seconds to inform you that a battery change is needed. Replacement battery is a 371 cell.

The Military Navigator Pilot's Quartz uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a gas tube is placed on each hour marker, hand, and at the 12 hour marker in the bezel. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent (glow in the dark) paint which requires an external light source to create a glow. There are 11 blue tubes marking hours 1:00 through 11:00, and one orange tube at 12:00, to give you a visual reference for telling the time. The hour and minute hands are lined with blue tubes as well.

Securing the Marathon x Islander Special Edition Navigator to your wrist is a black 20mm ballistic nylon strap, complete with black hardware. It is 290mm long.
