Orient USA II White Dial Automatic Dive Watch with Sapphire Crystal #AA0200CW

I wanted another banger diver to abuse so I bought this to give my Seiko SKX a reprieve from it's daily beating. The fit and finish was fine. I proceeded to test the function of the watch and that's where the watch failed. The mechanics seemed to work as expected. It was actually running when I unboxed it. I pulled the crown to test the date wheel and to set the time. This is where I found the flaw that made me return it. When I went to set the time, the hour hand was always off. So, six o'clock is supposed to be straight up and down except it wasn't. When the minute hand was at the 12 o'clock position the hour hand was advanced slightly as though it was about 10 to 15 minutes past the hour. I moved the hands to several different positions and had the same result. So, I returned it. Mark and L.I.W. refunded my purchase the same day they received the return. I've purchased from them before this and this watch won't change that. The great customer service actually ensured it.

It's a fantastic watch. And a great price. I will definitely do business with island watch again . I got mine in the white dial and it's brilliant. The only thing I would change is the clasp but it's not bad.

I was in the market for a new dive watch and was considering the new Seiko 5. With hand winding, hacking, sapphire crystal, drilled lugs, solid bracelet and that gorgeous dial; this Mako USA II blows the Seiko out of the water (no pun inteded). This watch has become my new daily. Very happy with my purchase. If you’re thinking about getting the Mako, I’d recommend it to anyone.

Impressed with the quality of my first Orient watch. Needed a white dial diver and the Mako USA was always on the radar. When Long Island Watch ran a sale, it was too good to pass up. Very happy with the watch. Quality is on par or better than Seikos in the price range. Feels closer in quality to a Sumo rather than an SKX. Glad I gave the Mako USA II a shot. The white dial black bezel combo grabs more attention than the typical black or blue diver.

This is my second Orient watch ( Symphony) I have had my eye on this watch since it was released but never “pulled the trigger” . Recently I decided it was time and a fantastic offer from IW sealed the deal It is a lot of watch for the money. Sure there are minor issues. The crown isn’t the easiest to operate, the winding is a bit grindy( although it’s getting better) however overall it’s a nice piece. I like the bracelet no adjustment was needed for my 8 inch wrist. Very secure clasp. I haven’t assessed the variation rate yet but I am pretty sure it will be acceptable for this movement once it settles in. The white dial is a shade, off white, in certain light . The Lume is outstanding. The watch was shipped quickly and arrived as expected. Island watch offers a variety of affordable fine watches. Recommended
