The Mako USA collection is the newest rendition of Orient’s benchmark sport dive watch. With suggestions from watch forums and the watch community, the Mako USA has been updated with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, solid end links, and a 120-click diving bezel. In addition, this exclusive new model's hands and markers are coated with high grade Nemoto LumiNova® pigment which provides bright, and longer lasting luminosity for low light and total darkness.

The Mako USA has a screw down crown and a screw-down quick day change button. It also comes on a very well designed and comfortable to wear stainless steel bracelet. The bracelet features a dual push-button deployant clasp for amazingly easy on and off. And, the solid end links provide a more stable fit at the lugs. Includes a luminous PIP on the bezel and a day and date window at 3:00 on the dial. The 41.5mm stainless steel case is a size almost anyone can wear. The watch has a great wrist presence and the quality far exceeds the price.

    Amazing Service and Watch

    Ordered my Mako USA from here thanks to TGV! I am very impressed with the look and feel of the watch at this price point. My only gripe is the day/date windows and the bezel/inner markings are slightly misaligned. However, at this price it is hard to complain about. Shipping was fast and I had no problems; I will definitely be buying from Marc again. Cheers.

    I received my black dial Orient Mako USA yesterday, and I am very impressed. The build quality is excellent, and the watch has a good wrist presence. After wearing a titanium Citizen watch for the last four years, I thought the Mako would be too heavy, but it's not - it is very comfortable. I only wish the clasp was a little more robust, but for the price I paid, the Mako is easily worth hundreds more. BTW, according to Orient, the Mako USA has been discontinued. Too bad, because I was thinking of getting a blue-dial one. Also, thank you, Island Watch, for the speedy shipping! Just one little complaint. I have watched several "unboxing" videos online, and they show watches purchased from Island Watch including a nice polishing cloth in the watch box. There was no cloth in mine! Can I get one, IW?

    I was more than excited to order this timepiece. This is my introduction into automatics. After about a month of exploring and researching and enjoying this market that is fresh to me, I happily decided to claim the Orient as my first respectable watch. The quality of the watch speaks for itself and reflects a value beyond the price by far, and as it is discontinued I'll value it even more personally. The quality of service Long Island Watch offers seems to be among the best. The best price for this specific piece I could find, immediate shipping, as well as free upgrade to priority to Hawaii, which was a pleasant surprise. Thanks LIW! I will continue to shop here in the future.

    The Orient Black Mako USA was received quickly (with free priority shipping). The watch was as described and its features are outstanding, especially for the low price of $179. So far, I've had it about two weeks, it has kept excellent time at +/- less than 5 seconds per day. A couple minor quibbles: the new sapphire crystal is thinner than the old mineral glass and is therefore recessed below the bezel. This looks and feels a bit odd. It would be nicer if it were at least flush. Also, the crown is wobbly when it is unscrewed; I think they are all like this and it has not caused any problems but it gives less than a quality feel, unlike everything else about this watch. IW's service was excellent and Marc answered a couple email questions instantly. Overall, very pleased with the transaction. Just BTW, it appears the Mako USAs were only a limited production run and are now out of stock most everywhere. Hopefully, this will change in the future.

    Nice little watch for a very reasonable price. No one will confuse it for an Omega or Rolex etc., but for the money it appears well made and (so far) is keeping great time. Orient Watch seems intent on building a sound time piece and I'd consider another without hesitation.

    I bought the Mako USA from Long Island watch for delivery to London about two weeks ago and boy was it worth it. Shipping was fast, absolutely no problems there. The watch is unbelievably good value for money, I've only had to adjust it once since I got it and that was due to daylight saving time kicking in here in the UK. It's even more accurate than my brother's Swiss automatic which cost over 6 times more. The lume is brilliant, and easily lasts all night long, the bezel is snappy, responsive and sturdy and the bracelet is very comfortable and easy to adjust. Solid end links make it that much better than my Orient Ray (also purchased from Long Island) and gives it a more substantial feel and sound. The inclusion of a sapphire crystal makes this timepiece pretty damn near perfect. If only it had hacking and hand winding capability, but at this price point, I cannot complain. The mako USA is very versatile and goes just as well with a suit and tie as it would with shirt and jeans.
