The watch is really nice! Everyone wants to look at a pretty face and this watch does it for me. The chrome indices appear black sometimes and then flash a shining glint of class. The time keeping is on target for a mechanical movement. The watch band was a bit over dressy for me, so I toned it down with a canvas strap... khaki in color. Shows off a field, mil spec attractive EDC look.

My first choice was Hamilton field watch. But its price got in the way of purchase. The Orient Defender checked all my boxes except for sapphire crystal. Love this watch; its design is classy as well as practical. I have no doubt that it will be as durable as my Orient Mako, which is still a great watch after five years of steady, hard use as a work work watch. Highly recommend.

Great and beautiful watch at a fantastic price. No problems whatsoever. Took the watch out while traveling shortly after I received it. All the dials are awesome because it allows me to visually see the amount of time I have when taking care of everything and really keep on pace. The cream dial is really gorgeous and the brown leather strap is really good quality and very soft. Love this watch! Another orient hit.

They are an excellent watch for the money!

Is the watch perfect? No! However, getting multiple complications and a mechanical for under $130 Is crazy good. If your looking to add an affordable field watch to your watch box this a great choice. If you are on a budget and looking for a respectable watch this is it. I still want a Hamilton Khaki Field but this a keeper. The customer service will keep me coming back. I have ordered a custom SK007 that I'm waiting on and I'm gong to start saving for the Sarx055 that I will definitely buy from Marc.

Pros: Great experience with Island, packed right, shipped promptly. Watch itself keeps excellent time (much better than my SKX), very cool three dial look, screw down crown, 3:30 location is nice touch (doesn't poke my hand), Marc was not kidding in his review about how nice the band is. Cons: lume is pitiful, which is surprising. Can't they get big brother SEIKO to send over a can of the good stuff? No drilled lugs or quick release pins on the band. It's a sub 330, so it's going to the beach and pool. I gotta pull out my tool to get the NATO on? Lame. No display on back. This one is my fault though, I like my watches to be more rugged than a window allows. Now to my biggest complaint, the dial. The "cream" is just awful. It looks like a Crayola color. There's no depth, but it's not flat either. It has a Miss Piggy pallor to it. I cringe everytime I look at it, but, like a dummy, I cut the tag off in a poorly lit room. I'm tricking my brain to see it as yellowish or ivory...

Bought two Orient Defender watches. One for myself and one as a gift for a friend. They arrived quickly and look great! My friend was super pumped for the gift and is wearing the watch every day since. I'll definitely be ordering from here again.
