Scratch and Dent - Orient Trooper Automatic Watch with Sapphire Crystal and 24-Hour Sub-Dial #ET0S001B 1

Scratch and Dent - Orient Trooper Automatic Watch with Sapphire Crystal and 24-Hour Sub-Dial #ET0S001B

This is a scratch and dent Orient Trooper watch. It had gotten some water inside. Orient refurbished the entire watch. The watch has obvious signs of use.

This is a new Orient field watch with a black dial and white luminous hands and luminous dot hour markers. Date is at 6:00 with the day of the week shown in a sub-dial at 3:00. At 11:00 on the dial is a 24-hour sub-dial that is handy for tracking military time. The Trooper also sports a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal to keep your watch looking new. The watch is powered by a Orient made caliber 46B45, 21-jewel automatic (self-winding) movement and it is housed in a 42mm diameter stainless steel case. A stainless steel bracelet with a dual push-button deployant clasp completes the sporty look.

    Great Value for the Money

Posted by Christopher Gass on Aug 4th 2017

Received this watch a week ago from LIW. I've been very impressed with the quality for the money. Saphire crystal, drilled lug holes, and solid end links on the bracelet all for $170. In most of the online photos the dial looked pretty flat, but in person (on the gray dial at least) the center has a sort of brushed texture while the raised minute track has a flatter appearance. The subdials for the day and 24 hour time (which you are unable to set separately) both have more of a gloss look to them. The applied hour markers and the hands catch the light wonderfully. One downside is that the whole dial is fairly reflective and in bright sun it can be a little difficult to read between the reflection from the crystal and the dial. The lume is also lackluster. The hands are decently legible for a few hours in low light, but won't last all through the night. The hour pips don't really work at all. I think I've seen them in the dark one time.
