Simple and safe to use on watches because it’s plastic.

    slips around and inexact

I know it's the cheapest option, but this was so loose and primitive that it didn't really work for me. I might send it back - I don't know yet.

    Plastic Vernier Caliper

Overpriced cheap plastic. Scale markings fuzzy. Vernier markings do not come close to the edge. Very poor registration and legibility... even for the price.

This is a nice caliper to measure your watches. It does the job and won't scratch your watch. I'm glad I have it.

Great No Scratch Caliper for the Price

Posted by Daniel N on Apr 3rd 2018

I really like this caliper as something I can tote around without fearing whether I will break it or not (as I can just buy another) and it's great for measuring items I don't want to scratch up. Deducted one star for the depth measurement having about 1 mm of slop before actually measuring anything, i.e. the thin metal rod isn't long enough and doesn't protrude from the caliper until about 1 mm on the scale. It's fine so long as I remember this, but would have been nice if the rod was right on.
