Seiko Prospex Stainless Steel Monster with Seiko 6R15, 23-Jewel Automatic Movement #SBDC025

Seiko Prospex Stainless Steel Monster with Seiko 6R15, 23-Jewel Automatic Movement #SBDC025

The Seiko Prospex SBDC025 comes with the higher grade Seiko 6R15 automatic movement that uses a high capacity Spron 510 mainspring to provide a 50 hour runtime when fully wound. That is about nine hours greater than the Seiko Monster II with its Caliber 4R36 movement. The movement also hand winds and is hackable. The powerful Seiko LumiBrite luminescent material used on the hands and markers gives the watch a bright greenish-blue glow in the dark (when charged with light) for several hours. The hour markers on this edition only use the shark-tooth design from the Monster II at 12:00.

Lug width is 20mm. Case size is 42.3mm. Slightly domed Hardlex mineral crystal. Concave uni-directional rotating dive bezel helps protect the crystal. It has a Seiko stainless steel bracelet with dual push-button deployant clasp (and diver extension). Solid screw-in case back. Water resistant to 200 meters. Date window at 3:00.

    Great watch, Easy buy

Posted by Mike on Nov 10th 2016

This watch is exactly as advertised, beefy and rugged but also just a great looking watch. A definate step up from the SKX, immediately evident when turning the bezel and crown. More $ than a 2nd Gen, but well worth it with the much improved dial and new/better movement. (Can't say the same for the new PX Sumos). First time dealing with Long Island Watch. Buying experience was great. Answered my questions promptly via email, and product arrived quickly.

    Favorite Watch

First off out of the box was +8 sec a day, for a $500 watch good luck beating that, even beats ETAs in some swiss brands. This is build like a tank and should be, deserves to be your edc watch. Matter of taste but I like that they took the day funtion off of this gen. Looks cleaner. Long story short you'll love this watch, if the avant garde design pleases you of course.
