Seiko Save the Ocean Prospex Turtle Automatic Dive Watch with Stainless Steel Bracelet #SRPD21

This is a Seiko automatic dive watch that has been nicknamed Great White Shark Turtle. This new model is part of the new Save the Ocean collection. The 4R36 Seiko movement is self-winding, but it can be hand wound. 200 meter water resistance. The watch comes on a solid link stainless steel bracelet. 45mm diameter case. It includes manual and a Seiko box.

Seiko Save the Ocean Prospex Turtle #SRPD21

Posted by I. Ross on May 25th 2021

Beautiful watch with a stunning blue dial. Wears better than expected, and is absolutely beguiling. The pin and collar bracelet was frustrating to adjust, but I upgraded it with a Strapcode Super-J bracelet (also from Long Island Watch) after the fact, and it is now just a stunning watch. Accurate movement (-3 seconds daily), and chapter ring is aligned. The blue dial is wonderfully textured and is much more visually interesting than pictures can really capture, with varying gradients of blue and sunburst effect depending on the lighting. Another fantastic experience with Long Island Watch!

    Save The Ocean Turtle

I love everything about this Seiko Turtle. The Save The Ocean models are always cool with their blue custom dials, and this particular version with the Great White Shark dial (among the random wave patterns on the dial, their is a shark fin beaking those waves by the 8 o'clock marker), and the shark tail on the balance end of the sweep second hand. It's just a gorgeous watch. I also appreciate that Marc selects Seikos that seem to avoid the well known alignment curse. Everything on this watch (dial, day/date window, chapter ring, and bezel) lines up perfectly! Speaking of the bezel, the bezel insert is stunning, with it's grey and blue colorway, deeply etched numbers and markers, and subtle vinyl record style groves! My only complaint is with the bracelet. For a Seiko in this price range, it's actually quitw gòod with it's solid links and endlinks, but the pressed clasp disappointing, and pin & collar link pins are pain to work properly when resizing the bracelet. Thankfully, Marc has an excellent replacement bracelet that I ordered and put on the watch, that fits perfectly to the case (even better than the stock Seiko bracelet). It also features solid links and endlinks, but it has far superior screw-in pins on the adjustable/removable links, and it has a beautiful fully milled clasp! If I had any other wish, it would be Seiko offering sapphire crystals at this price point. Otherwise, I absolutely love this watch!

    Love this Turtle!

Posted by Larry Duncan on Mar 7th 2021

This is my second Turtle and first from Marc and Long Island Watch. My other Turtle was purchased years ago and I have loved wearing it. And of course it is still looking and functioning like new! The first Turtle has a black dial with white markers and the bezel is black with gold markers and numerals. Beautiful combination. This new Turtle with the ocean wave dial and blue and grey bezel with white markers and numerals is gorgeous! And I love the presence and weight of the Turtle with the steel bracelet on my 7 1/5 inch wrist. But beware if you need to size the bracelet to your wrist since it is designed with the dreaded press pins with collars. If you have not worked with the press pins and collars previously be sure to watch Marc's helpful Watch and Learn video to see how to do it easily. Need I say that Island Watch and Marc get 5 stars!

    Fantastic Turtle

Posted by Evin on Feb 12th 2021

Ordered last week, Marc shipped it the next day, 2nd day priority mail. USPS had its standard epic fail, and it took right at a week to get here. BEAUTIFUL watch. I had it on a nylon strap within 5 minutes of getting it out of the box, and within another 30 minutes, I had resized the bracelet. Don't let the pin & collar bracelet system scare you. It was easy with a Bergeon spring bar tool and a large-sized paper-clip.I did a check of its regulation over the last couple days. It runs just over 5 s/d fast, which is great, IMO. LOVE it! I may have the Turtle "disease" now. I'd really like to get that PADI special edition, love its Pepsi bezel. Also, I have fairly small wrists, but the Turtle looks fine, sizewise. Works much better than my Sumo. And the Turtle is very comfortable, especially on a nylon strap. Weight is fine (although if it is on the bracelet, you definitely know it is there).

    Prospex Turtle

Wanted one of these for awhile and LI Watch had a decent deal. Very happy with the watch. The power reserve seems short to me....I take the watch off at 10 PM and by 7 AM it has stopped. No problem to reset the time and get it going again, but it seems to me it should have a longer power reserve.

Love the service and the watch

This version of the turtle is quite nice and as many reviews mention does not look as big on the the wrist as one might expect given the size. Marc shipped this out immediately and was at my door 2 days later. The videos posted in relation to the Seiko bracelet sizing were also a big help.

Fun having a great white with you all day.

I love this watch, it just gets better the longer I have it on my wrist. But this watch also is an example of Long Island’s great CS. The 1st watch I received ran 4 or more minutes slow per day. I emailed Long Island, and Marc had me track it for 24 hours to confirm deviation. Once that was confirmed. He shipped me a new SRPD21, and a return label for the bad watch. I will admit the new SRPD21 runs a little fast daily. But it’s manageable and will likely “settle”.

    Style, Quality, Value

Posted by David Allen on Sep 3rd 2020

The watch looks as good as in the photos and videos on the website. Based on wearing daily for 3 weeks, the steel bracelet is comfortable and seems to be high quality. The bezel is solid and everything is well aligned. I manually wind the watch every few days to assure the main spring remains well charged. I have not checked the accuracy yet but I am not noticing any appreciable drift either way in the past 1.5 weeks (which is approximately when I last set it). At this point the watch seems to be high quality and a very good value. The Watch & Learn videos on Youtube were very informative and helpful in making a decision. They were also helpful in resizing the bracelet, which was not a problem thanks to the inexpensive pin removal tool that Long Island Watch also sells. Before the purchase I emailed questions which were answered thoroughly and promptly. All in all my experience in dealing with Long Island Watch was highly favorable.
