Squale Master Marina Militare Reissue Limited Edition #MASTERMM

Squale is famously known for making the world's best dive watches for elite forces around the world. 40 years after their notable collaboration with the Marina Militare (the Italian Navy), the relationship has been re-kindled, this time in a 300 piece limited edition set that was designed by both Squale and the Italian Navy.

This watch is a true beast. It has undergone extensive redesign from the initial model, and now sports a helium escape valve to allow it to dive to depths of 1200 meters! How do you keep all that pressure at bay? By using a 4mm thick sapphire crystal, and a redesigned Master caseback. The caseback is engraved with the crest of the Italian Navy, as well as the limited edition number.

The watch is powered by an elabore grade Sellita SW200-1 movement, to ensure excellent timekeeping accuracy. Gazing at the matte black dial, you will see it is a sandwich construction. Holes are cut in the dial, and beneath is a disk of SuperLuminova BGW9 to give the markers a cool blue glow when the lights go down. Telling the time in the daylight is a breeze, thanks to the orange minutes hand, and silver hour hand (both generously coated with lume as well). A date sits at 3:00, which is color matched to the dial. A screwdown crown is neatly tucked away at the 4:00 position.

The bezel is a 120 click, uni-directional ratcheting bezel. The insert is smooth black steel, with a single lumed triangle. Called a "bund" bezel, the job of the bezel is to time the hours spent underwater, not the minutes like on traditional bezels.

The watch is packaged in a commemorative case, that is IP67 water resistant, and is packaged with an extra black nylon strap should you decide to change the look.
