SQUALE Master Titanium Grand Vert Diver with Teal Dial #MASTIBKGR.RAL
Squale expands its flagship collection on the wrist of freediving champion Vincenzo Ferri with two new versions, featuring 3D blue and teal dials, and a new technical rubber strap with alligatorstyle embossing and dark grey raised stitching.
The Master of the Sea Expands Its Range
“Language is not enough to express and the hand is not enough to write all the wonders of the sea” This timeless quote, attributed to Christopher Columbus, perfectly captures humanity’s deep fascination with the ocean — a place of beauty, mystery, adventure, and freedom. The new Master collection, the flagship of Squale’s technically advanced lineup since 1959, is inspired by the sea and its overwhelming, universal power.
Squale has always approached the ocean with the utmost respect. As early as the 1960s, the original Master cases were built to withstand an astounding pressure of 100 atmospheres — the equivalent of 1,000 meters in depth. Today’s Master collection pushes that performance even further, thanks to features such as a 42 mm case made of Grade 5 titanium, a 4 mm-thick sapphire crystal, and a helium release valve. These upgrades now allow the watches to resist up to 120 atmospheres — or 1,200 meters of depth. Now, alongside the classic black dial version, two new editions join the collection: Grand Bleu and Grand Vert — tributes to the ever-changing hues of the sea that continue to stir the imagination of elite freedivers like Squale’s ambassador, Vincenzo Ferri.
A Shared Passion for an Exceptional Partnership
Squale has long been worn on the wrists of the world’s freediving legends and is proud to support the athletic journey of Vincenzo Ferri — a multi-award-winning Italian freediver who has competed in four European Championships and five World Championships. His personal best, which also stands as the Italian national record, is an astounding 98 meters in the constant weight bi-fins category — a discipline in which the diver descends and resurfaces without the aid of ballast or propulsion devices.
He achieved this feat in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Honduras, in 2019. His next ambitious goal: to compete in the 2028 Olympic Games in Las Vegas, where freediving will be included in the official program for the very first time.
Among his favorite diving locations are Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, the Gulf of Naples facing Capri, and Sharm El Sheikh in the Red Sea. It is in the crystal-clear waters of Sharm that Vincenzo Ferri was photographed wearing the new Squale Master models during his training sessions.
Dials that Light Up in New Colors and Take on a Three-Dimensional Look
The color choices for the new Master Titanium Grand Bleu and Master Titanium Grand Vert are inspired by the key moments of a freediver’s descent and ascent. Downward, into the famed “grand bleu” of the ocean depths, to confront the unknown and push personal limits — and then upward, toward the surface, eyes fixed on the rays of sunlight filtering from above. Meter by meter, the water shifts in hue, from deep blue to light blue and finally to the “grand vert” of the final kicks — the most intense moment of the entire dive. After those long, eternal seconds of waiting, comes the longed-for first breath at the surface and the satisfaction of a mission accomplished.
But the innovation lies not only in the new dial colors — it also involves their wave-structured design, which gives a striking three-dimensional effect and evokes the natural movement of the sea. The applied hour markers match the color tone of each dial.
Notably, the play of color remains visible even in low-light conditions. The Super-LumiNova lume is always matched to the dial color, except for the minute hand (which retains its traditional orange outline), the luminescent tip of the seconds hand, and the triangle on the bezel insert — all treated with white SuperLuminova BGW9 for optimal underwater legibility. As for the unidirectional bezel with ceramic insert: in the blue version, the insert matches the dial color, as do the indices and Arabic numerals; in the teal version, the insert is black, with teal indices and numerals.
The New Strap – Elegance Meets Performance
The most notable addition to this new edition is an accessory that elevates the elegance of the watch, transforming it into an exceptionally refined diver while preserving its identity as a true tool watch: the introduction of a new professional rubber strap.
Its look evokes that of a leather strap, yet it is crafted from premium-quality rubber, Made in Italy, featuring an embossed alligator-scale texture and dark grey raised stitching.
A definitive diver’s watch, designed to accompany you in every situation — from the most adventurous to the most elegant.
