Nice look, idealistic and unrealistic install
June 23, 2024 by Tom M. (United States)
“It's...ok. As an engineer, I feel like it was designed by someone who drew it up in CAD with no sense of operational fit. I've been there and wasted days on a flight line because some young engineer knows CAD but doesn't know how to turn a wrench. With practically zero clearance between lugs and end links, the install is one of walking the endlink towards the case just enough to get one springbar end close enough to use a tool to push the springbar end into the lug...that assumes you are working with the looser sprung side of the springbar. The supplied springbars are thinner than those more commonly available, so absolutely do not lose one unless you have a spare. Maybe a fit procedure should have been written as well. It's a procedure rife with potential pitfalls, the worst being the potentail to scratch/gouge the lug finish. Yikes. I like being able to switch straps, but with this bracelet, one is less likely to since the PITA factor is so high.”
