The new Techne Merlin model 245.023 is classic size aviator watch with a 39.5mm diameter forged 316L stainless steel case. The watch is powered by an accurate Citizen-Miyota quartz movement. A second register is at the 6:00 position on the dial and a minutes scale is on the outer portion of the black dial. The watch is ant-magnetic to 1,600 A/m. Water resistance is 50 meters. The watch is fitted with a vibrant orange military-style nylon strap with stainless steel buckle and keepers.

    It would be nice to review this watch

    Unfortunately, there are risks in ordering and receiving products by mail. I have so far paid for a watch that the USPS claims to have delivered, but no such luck. If I eventually obtain the product, I’ll be happy to give it a fair review.

    Merlin on Orange NATO

    The Merlin 245 is not your typical field watch design. Its a unique, modern interpretation of WWII -era Navy/Military watches. The crystal is nicely domed. Case diameter is 39.5 mm, not counting the crown & 47mm lug to lug (tip to tip), making it the ideal size for those who have smaller wrists (mine is 6.3" and it fits great), or those who just prefer an average size watch. The small second hand is precise (I love this style of second hand). Lume is adequate, not great. A lot of detail went into the design of this watch & considering the price, its a bargain. The Strap: Quality orange NATO strap, looks much better in person, with a nice rich sheen. Looks fabulous esp. at dusk. The strap keepers are sewn in place, not just heat sealed.
