Powering the Varsity VW-01 is the Made in Japan Miyota 8205 movement. The 8205 is an automatic movement that handwinds and hacks, and has a power reserve of 40 hours. As it is a vertical day configuration, there is only one language on the day wheel (English). The 39mm case is just 13mm thick (13.5mm including the dome of the sapphire crystal) and a very cozy 47mm lug to lug. A screwdown crown ensures a full 200 meters of water resistance.

Instead of a traditional dive timer bezel, we have included a bi-directional dual time bezel, which is a great way to track a second time zone. The insert is ceramic, so it resists scratching. Telling the time is a snap with syringe style hands with accented color tips.

Securing the VW-01 to your wrist is a matching blue rubber strap with white keepers, and a bonus nylon strap in the same color scheme is included. Both straps have quick release spring bars to allow for quick changes with no tools.

If you desire a bracelet for your watch, we also offer a matching bracelet. It tapers from the 20mm lug width to 18mm at the 4 position micro-adjust clasp. The bracelet is solid link, and solid endlink, and is easily sized with an included screwdriver. The H-links are brushed on the tops and side, with a note of high-polish on the top and bottom edges of the center links. This provides a bit of visual ‘pop’ as your wrist moves. The bracelet also uses quick release spring pins.

His senior season showcased his determination with a near-perfect 38-1 record that culminated in a state championship runner-up finish. Pierce has continued his development at Penn State, posting a solid 7-3 record during the 2024-2025 season as part of the dominant Nittany Lions squad that went a perfect 15-0 overall, captured the Big Ten Championship with an 8-0 conference record, and claimed the NCAA Championship title. Beyond his athletic achievements, Pierce excelled academically as a Cum Laude student and continues to pursue his studies in science at Penn State.
