Vostok-Europe Ekranoplan Caspian Sea Monster Tritium Tube Dive Watch 5454108

Vostok-Europe Ekranoplan Caspian Sea Monster Tritium Tube Dive Watch 5454108

The new Caspian Sea Monster dive watch features tritium tube technology. The small, gas-filled tubes on the hands and hour markers provide constant illumination and do not need to be charged in sunlight or with a battery. Inside the watch is a Vostok-Europe 32-jewel automatic (self-winding) movement with blue screws and a decorated rotor (viewable via an exhibition case back). Power reserve is about 36 hours. The 47mm case is made from black PVD coated 316L surgical grade stainless steel with a matching screw-down black PVD crown. Includes a uni-directional bezel, a day to night indicator, a 24-hour GMT numeric readout (at 12:00), a date window at 6:00, and an integrated thick silicon dive strap with a black PVD coated buckle. Note: The Ekranoplan, or Caspian Sea Monster, is an unusual "ground effect" vehicle built in Russia designed to carry enormous weight back and forth across the Caspian Sea on a cushion of air just 20 feet above the surface.

    Solid Watch

Posted by Vulinec Dale on Nov 30th 2012

This is my first automatic watch. Very bold and with a solid feel. I have only had it a short time so cannot give an in depth review. It is very accurate as long as it is wound. Over night it looses about 15 seconds. So I can see I wil be setting it very few days. The date window is so small It isn't not worth the time it takes to set it. As for the 24 hour display, very small and of little use. The day night indicator may be important if one is on a submarine. What I love about this watch is the Tritium tubes on the display that make it visible in total darkness and never loose brightness. The size of the hour markings and hands make it very easy to read without glasses. I really like the rubber strap. Very comfortable and fits well. Does not make my wrist sweat like imitation rubber or leather. Overall, so far, I am very satisfied.
