Hemel Sea Dart Automatic Dive Watch with Black Dial #HD3
The Hemel Sea Dart pays tribute to its namesake, the only super sonic jet that was able to take off from and land on to bodies of water. It reinvents the skin diver aesthetic and takes cues from vintage cockpit dials. Modern sensibilities abound with the unique design language of Hemel Founder and principal designer, Marvin Menke.
The Sea Dart is a very wearable 39mm in diameter, and a modest 45mm lug to lug dimension makes it at home on wrists of all sizes. The watch is powered by a 28,800 BPH Miyota 9039 movement. The seconds hand beats at a fluid 8 times per second, for a very pleasing appearance.
The silver hour and minute hands are treated with C3 SuperLuminova for low light visibility, while the orange seconds hand gives the design some daytime "pop". The dial is very tastefully done with arabic numbers spelled out, and also done in C3 Superluminova. The dial is covered with a double domed sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective coating on the underside to reduce glare.
To maintain the dive style, a 120 click uni-directional ratcheting bezel is installed with a lume pip at the 12:00 position. A beads of rice bracelet is attached with solid endlinks, and the solid link bracelet is very simply sized with screws. A secure flip-lock deployant clasp with micro-adjust makes sure it fits your wrist comfortably.
A full 300 meters of water resistance is realized through the use of a screw-down crown.
