Islander 38mm Automatic Dive Watch with Solid-Link Bracelet, AR Sapphire Crystal, and Luminous Ceramic Bezel Insert #ISL-06

Island Watch would like to introduce you to the new Islander dive watch. You will immediately notice that is has a very familiar 38mm case with an offset screw-down crown at 4:00. Thickness is 13mm and tip to tip it is a very wearable 44.5mm. Note that the lug ends are drilled for easier bracelet to strap changes. The case back has a rendering of Long Island on it along with the Islander name, Island Watch and 200 meter water resistance.

Inside the case is an NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. The NH36 also has both a day and date wheel viewed at 3:00 on the dial.

The dark blue dial has SuperLuminova on the hands and hour makers and the Island Watch logo is luminous under 12:00. The 120-click uni-directional (pepsi-style) bezel has a scratch-resistant (diver marked) ceramic insert that is also treated with SuperLuminova for a maximum glow-in-the-dark experience when lights go out. It's bright and long lasting.

The dark blue dial has enhanced visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective flat sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches. The anti-reflective coating is on the underside of the sapphire and it imparts a bluish hue at some viewing angles.

Upgraded: We have enhanced the bracelet with solid links, solid end links and a dual push-button milled scissor deployant clasp with three position micro-adjustment. Screws are now used (instead of pins) for sizing the bracelet. Also, The crown is now signed with the Island Watch logo.

NOTE: The Islander dive and dual-time watch is compatible with aftermarket parts available at Island Watch (and elsewhere) for the SKX013 models, such as crystals, bezels, inserts, chapter rings, dials, hands, bracelets, etc.

Killer bargain

LIW seems to be the only one who can make an affordable diver "with all the fixins" like sapphire crystal and a 4 o'clock crown below 40mm. For dainty-wristed dudes like me, I feel I can finally wear divers again. I won't wear anything above 39mm, so this is nice. Great little watch - it's like the SKX013 but with the SKX009 colorway (and the blue dial isn't navy blue like the 009 was; it's a more vivid blue, which is better). Thanks Marc! Only thing is I regret not waiting for the bracelet with screws instead of pins. I broke two tips on my pin remover tool before giving up and ordering the Strapcode (I've been pulling out links since the 80s, so it's not me). I think the bracelet's pins have seized because they will not budge. I suppose I could try Liquid Wrench, but I'm also not a huge fan of the Jubilee style anyway, so I ordered the Boyer-O. So definitely get the watch, but beware the bracelet might not size as easily as you might think.

You really hit it out of the park with this one Marc! What an incredible value and a huge step up in features over my beloved SKX013. LOVE how the bezel blue is Island blue.
