Island Watch would like to introduce you to the new Islander dive watch. You will immediately notice that is has a very familiar 43mm case with an offset screw-down crown at 4:00. Thickness is 14mm and tip to tip it is a very wearable 46mm (i.e. looks big, but doesn't wear big on your wrist). Note that the lug ends are drilled for easier bracelet to strap changes. The case back has a rendering of Long Island on it along with the Islander name, Island Watch and 200 meter water resistance.

Inside the case is an NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. The NH36 also has both a day and date wheel viewed at 3:00 on the dial.

The dark blue dial has SuperLuminova on the hands and hour makers and the Island Watch logo is luminous under 12:00. The 120-click uni-directional bezel has a scratch-resistant blue and red (diver marked) ceramic insert that is also treated with SuperLuminova for a maximum glow-in-the-dark experience when lights go out. It is bright and long lasting.

The dial has enhanced visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective flat sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches. The anti-reflective coating is on the underside of the sapphire and it imparts a bluish hue at some viewing angles.

And, lastly you get a beefy bracelet with solid links, solid end links and a milled, dual push-button flip lock deployant clasp with three position micro-adjustment. For sizing the bracelet, you will find screws are used for removing bracelet links instead of pins.

NOTE: The Islander dive and dual-time watch is compatible with aftermarket parts available at Island Watch (and elsewhere) for the SKX007 (and 009) models, such as crystals, bezels, inserts, chapter rings, dials, hands, bracelets, etc.

    The watch arrived after 14 days maybe due to the holiday mail rush. The watch itself is perfect and as described. It has been running on time since i put it on my wrist. so far very happy with the watch.

    If I didn’t get this for Christmas I was gonna buy it, for sure! It’s a no brainer. If you once had a love affair with the skx that slowly dwindled into dissatisfaction, you must buy this watch. Marc has improved on every single one of the skxs’ Short comings. For a reasonable price! I am eagerly waiting for more Long Island models. Can’t wait to get an eta or Selitta based model.     This may well be one of the most accurate (-1/+2 seconds per day) automatic watches I've had the pleasure to own - unfortunately, unscrewing the crown was never reliable or easy to do fresh out of the box. It's now jammed in position unable to be fully extended to set the time and date or to permit hand winding. Neither can it be completely screwed down. This is clearly a quality control issue that (hopefully) warranty service can resolve. A pity since it's so accurate.

    Everything You Wished the SKX Should Be

    This is a great watch!!! It looks beautiful with the ceramic "Pepsi" bezel and a more matching blue colored dial than the dark navy blue found on the SKX009. For the price and all of the upgrades, this Islander is the way to go rather than modding an SKX and spending lots of money. Oh, and the drilled lugs, hacking, and winding movement...finally what we all wanted!!

    So, what else do you say when Christmas comes in November? After a long, drawn out Thanksgiving weekend with some family members I can barely tolerate, the mailman brought me something way better than an electric bill. This version of the Islander is my first acquisition of many more to come. I am sure Marc and his team will keep raising their own bar. For me, this watch has: Sapphire crystal, case diameter greater than 40mm, luminous bezel insert, solid link bracelet w/ screws instead of pins, hacking and the outline of my beloved Long Island on the case back. The only thing LIW could add is the winning Lotto numbers stapled to the warranty card. Well done and thank you!
