Islander Automatic Dive Watch with AR Double Dome Sapphire Crystal, and Luminous Ceramic Bezel Insert #ISL-12

Islander Automatic Dive Watch with AR Double Dome Sapphire Crystal, and Luminous Ceramic Bezel Insert #ISL-12

Island Watch would like to introduce you to the new Islander dive watch. The 45mm case with an offset screw-down crown at 4:00 has been sandblasted for a non-reflective finish. Thickness is 16.5mm and tip to tip it is a very wearable 47mm (i.e. the watch does not wear big on your wrist). The watch has a 200 meter water resistance rating.

Inside the case is an NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. The NH36 also has both a day and date wheel viewed at 3:00 on the dial.

The black dial has SuperLuminova on the hands and hour makers and the Island Watch logo is luminous under 12:00. The 120-click uni-directional coin-edge bezel has a scratch-resistant black (
diver marked) ceramic insert that is also treated with SuperLuminova for a maximum glow-in-the-dark experience in the dark. It is quite bright and long lasting with a good charge of bright light or sunshine. An LED flashlight with charge it very quickly.

The dial has enhanced visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective double-domed sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches. The anti-reflective coating is on the underside of the sapphire and it show a bluish hue at some viewing angles.

The ISL-12 watch comes on a two-piece black nylon strap with stainless steel keepers and buckle. Note that the lug ends are drilled for easier strap changes.

NOTE: The Islander dive and dual-time watch is compatible with aftermarket parts available at Island Watch (and elsewhere) for turtle models, such as crystals, bezels, inserts, chapter rings, dials, hands, bracelets, etc.

    Great Watch!

I got this last week and I’m very pleased with it. I have small wrists and this watch wears very well. The lume is good and easy to read. The strap it came on is comfortable but for personal preference I put it on a rubber dive strap. The drilled thru lugs made this an easy swap. I would do business with this company again, and am already looking at an ISL-19.

So close to 5 starts (consider this a 4.5)

Excellent watch, as far as features and specs go. I love wearing it. The one thing a would like to see is a different strap. The one supplied almost feels cheap in comparison with everything else you're getting. If there's anyway to get this in the store with a decent rubber/silicone band, it would put it over the top. I tried it on a one piece NATO for a while, but the bulk of this watch plus being lifted off the wrist a bit just feels and looks a bit odd IMO. I understand that keeping them at $299 is a big deal, but I'm sure many people are inevitably spending the extra $20-50 on a rubber strap anyways. After throwing on a new band, it's likely become my new beach/athletic watch.

This is the Watch Seiko should've made!

I took a chance buying the ISL-12, and I'm glad I did. It wears great on my skinny wrist. Easily serviceable, hand winding, hacking, double dome sapphire crystal and a great price makes it unbeatable. It actually shipped on time! I can't wait to order "Your Watch, Your Way," once this COVID-19 stuff is over. Just buy it, you won't be disappointed. It's a keeper.

From start to finish my experience with Long Island Watch company has been very pleasant the watch I got was of exceptional quality and I just love it and this won’t be my last purchase from Marc as I have my eye on the yellow and orange islanders! I cannot recommend this watch enough overall a great experience!

    Overall I like it.

Overall the watch is well made and I like it. Has a solid weighty feel. Clear upgrades over the Seiko Turtle. I'm not a big fan of the strap that came with it. It's very stiff and the hardware is huge and clunky. I'm planning on trading it for a rubber strap. My only complaint about the watch itself is the bezel has a very large amount of play. I would recommend.

Fantastic value for a great watch

I own several special edition Seiko diver watches, Citizen divers, Hamilton field watches, a Marathon JSAR, and a bunch of run of the mill digitals. My watch-buying trends toward the more affordable, rugged, utilitarian with a few nicer "go to church on Sunday" models mixed in there. The Island ISL-12 fits right in to any of those categories. It comes with the features many folks pay extra to "mod" a Seiko with (double-dome sapphire, ceramic bezel insert), takes the normal Seiko Turtle bands, looks dashing on the canvas band it comes with, and stellar on the Strapcode 22mm Hexad-O "Boyer" stianless band when I want to dress it up a little. If you're reading this, you are probably toying with the idea of buying one. Just do it. You won't be disappointed. The ISL-12 is on my wrist these days more than any other watch I own. I'm wearing it right now, in fact.
