Islander Black Dial Automatic Dive Watch with AR Double Dome Sapphire Crystal, and Luminous Ceramic Bezel Insert #ISL-30

Looks like a modded version of my 6309-7049. It hasn’t been off my wrist since it arrived a month or so ago. When I’m active it keeps remarkably good time. Super comfortable turtle case and bracelet and the lume is astonishing. It rather emits light more than simply being readable at 2:00 am. I would like to see other ISL-30 derivations, I’d buy another. Excellent time piece! Very satisfied! Thanks very much!!

First Islander and ordered a second within a week. That tells you what I think of these. Solid build with all the upgraded parts you could want on a stock watch right down to the signed crown. Everything lines up perfectly. It's a better built Seiko without the higher price. Keep up the quality Marc and you'll go far with this line.

Great watch, Thank you Marc! I really enjoy this Turtle style watch, it wears extremely comfortable and not like a big 45mm watch at all. The key to this is the upturned cushioned case that feels great and contours to wrist movements, you never feel any sharp edges against your wrist while wearing this watch and the 4 O'clock crown position makes it even better. I've never owned a watch with a 4 O'clock crown position and thought it was kind of gimmicky but after wearing this style and not having a crown digging into your hand is great. The lume is bright and lasts for hours, it faded quick but stays lit and legible for a long time. The domed sapphire is so cool it really adds some class and style to the watch. Band is excellent and the screw pins are very easy to adjust, way better then friction pins. The movement is quite accurate and makes no noise, I adjust the time once a week and the crown threads are smooth and easy to engage. My only complaint was the bezel is very loose and easy to move to the left, barely no play at all to the right and solid. I contacted Marc about the bezel and he promptly informed me that this is a design feature of this watch and offered to return the watch so a stronger spring could be installed, I took Marc up on this offer and sent the watch back and got it back quickly. The bezel is still quite loose but slightly tighter, it's very smooth. This is such a minor complaint but the lume pip is constantly moving throughout the day after brushing against things and if you have OCD it might drive you nuts lol, I've gotten used to it but take note if your used to stiff bezels this watch will not be like that. I wear this watch 24/7 and it's the best watch I've ever owned. I highly recommend this fine timepiece and look forward to many years of service out of it. Buy one you will not be disappointed, Marc is the man and he hit a real homerun with these awesome islander watches, they can not be beat for the money and with all the different styles there's one for everyone. This watch is just as nice as my Seiko Turtles! There isn’t anything about it I don’t like. The only thing I would change would be the crystal. I prefer flat to domed, but I still love the watch.

While I would make some small changes to this watch (and I plan to), I love the build. I love what Mark is doing here - for less than the price of the Seiko precedent I got a better crystal, a better movement, a better strap, and just plain better built watch. I like this one so much, that I'll be buying another Islander in the future.

First, Marc is knowledgeable and helpful. He fielded my questions and helped me navigate getting my ideal model. The ISL-30 comes with the most popular mods already installed. Double domed AR sapphire crystal, lumed ceramic bezel, and excellent oyster bracelet are included. My jeweler with 50yrs experience commented on the build quality of the steel band. She was amazed at the quality and value of these Island watches. The NH36 movement gains a few seconds daily which is more than acceptable. The crown is smooth and is properly threaded with excellent alignment. I opted for the black bezel and black dial and it is always easily readable with neon orange and white hands. C3 lume is smoothly and evenly applied and is very bright. It wears much smaller than 45mm but still looks solid and substantial. I typically wear very large (48mm-52mm diameter) timepieces and was surprised how good it looked. The ISL-30 still gives off a "chunky" vibe without having to wield a boat anchor.

excellent value the bracelet is a little rough feeling, so I'm changing it. not a compliant for under $300

This watch is my fourth Islander. Again I'm completely impressed with the quality of these watches. After three days the NH36 has picked one second. Wow!!! This Turtle wears great, looks great, and its going to be hard to take off so some of the other watches in my collection get some T.O.W. (time on wrist). If you really like the SKX based Islanders you will be thrilled with this Turtle. Buy one ASAP. To Mark: Maybe more dial/bezel colors and bracelet options?? Also, I have a deep preference for the seconds hand painted orange for higher visibility and the lume dot as part of the pointer. Please consider that upgrade in various colors for all your watches. Finally, congratulations on all your fine watches.
