Islander Automatic Field Watch with Nylon Weave Strap and an AR Sapphire Crystal #ISL-42

The Islander ISL-42 classic field watch design with a blue dial. The dial has a 12-hour scale and a smaller 24-hour scale for military time. The hour and minute hands are filled with SuperLuminova as are the 12-hour numbers and markers around the dial. The brushed stainless steel case is a very wearable 39mm in diameter and it is 12mm thick. Lug to lug (or tip to tip) measurement is 48.5mm. The crown is a signed screw-down type that enables a better water resistance rating of 100-meters.

Inside the case is an NH36A, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. You can view the movement via an exhibition-window (screw-down) caseback.

The ISL-42 has date displayed viewed at 3:00 on the dial. You will note that the dial has excellent visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches.

This model comes with a woven grey nylon strap with leather backing and a signed stainless steel buckle. The strap comes with quick-release pins so you can change up the look with another strap without the need for any special tools. Just use your index finger.

    Outstanding Field Watch

What a nice and well built Field Watch. Its solid and the blue dial looks fantastic. The lume is great. The band is a little hard, it may need some good time of brake in. But for the price, its a great piece.

    Quality watch

This is a quality watch. First of all its 39 mm the right size for my 7 1/2 wrist. I've tried to go cheap 2x and always got a watch I wouldn't wear much. This is value for $. Who puts 100m water resistance in a field watch ? Who puts a rugged screw down crown? Who puts a really thick watch band that's reinforced and quick release ? Who puts so much luminova on hands and indices I can still read the face hrs later at night ? A solid buckle? A Seiko n36 accurate movement... sapphire glass. And so on. I'd been looking at Khaki kings for a while but with Canadian exchange it's more than I wanted to spend. I don't see any corners cut here. Unlike spotty quality Chinese watches and the month I waited for them. So it's not a K King it certainly deserves to be in the court as a Prince.

I bought the blue Islander field watch and was stunned by how beautiful it was when it arrived. Great pairing with the nylon strap. Wearing it all the time. Great value.

Very nice! Well worth the money.

This is my second Islander watch and I'm happy to say not my last. Excellent value for the price. I highly recommend. My only issue I've had is the watch strap. If you have a larger wrist be forwarded you may need a bigger one. I'm one the next to last hole which makes it difficult to buckle.

Crazy to think this thing cost less than $200. If Marc keeps putting out watches like this for this price, why would anyone bother with Seiko anymore? Islanders offer so much more for the money.

Great looking watch and its keeping good time too...I think a sterile dial would look even better but that is me being picky! The blue dial is understated and beautiful.

    Great Watch

I've been eyeing the Islander watches since they debuted and finally pulled the trigger on this one as I don't have any field style watches in my small collection. The dial is super clear, has great lume, and I love the color even more in person. The strap is fantastic and goes well with the dial. I think I'll get a lot of wear from it before I want to change it. It's also a great value at the price, I think anyone who chooses this watch will be pleased

    Best Islander yet

Marc you have done it again! I told myself one and done with Islanders, and here I am on my third personal one and fourth overall (gave one away that I totally regret). This field watch is by far the best, the dial is strikingly clear - everything you could possible want in a field watch. A perfect size, with great specs and at a very affordable price. Before this I had been saving my pennies for a Hamilton Field Khaki mechanical, although a fine piece, the Islander offers so much of the same feel with a bit more fun. You are totally right, this is a complete strap monster. The included grey strap is a perfect choice and already gotten compliments on it. I've got 3 more straps on the way and can't wait to share on Instagram the new looks. Kudos Sir - keep doing what you are doing! At the price I may have to pick up one more.
