Islander Automatic Watch with Leather Strap and an AR Dome Sapphire Crystal #ISL-84

The Islander ISL-84 brings back the style of popular watch that is no longer available. The cosmetic differences are subtle but noticeable.The case is a very wearable 40mm in diameter and it is 13mm thick. Lug to lug (or tip to tip) measurement is 47.5mm. The crown is a signed screw-down type that enables a better water resistance rating of 100-meters.

Inside the case is an NH35, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. The ISL-84 was designed without a date window.

The stark white dial has distinctive oversize hour makers like many WWII pilot watches. It is very easy to view the time at a glance. The hour hand, minute hand, and dial markings are all treated with C3 SuperLuminova (glows green). The seconds hand is painted orange for higher visibility and the lume dot (SuperLuminova BGW9 - glows blue) has been made part of the pointer. You will note that the dial has excellent visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective dome sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches.

This model comes with a black leather strap with matching stitching and a signed stainless steel buckle. You can change up the look with a military-style nylon strap, a different leather strap, or our optional Brac-11 stainless steel bracelet. The lug width is 20mm. 120mm x 75mm strap size.

This has rapidly become one of my favorite watches of a collection of about 50. That clean bright white dial and high contrast numerals and indices makes for a very easily read dial. It's an absolute strap monster. Well done Marc!

My first Islander watch purchase (bought with bracelet), and have been very happy with it. Fit and finish are excellent for the price, and the watch wears really well. Positives: Legibility is great. Bracelet is very comfortable, and screw links are a godsend! So easy to resize compared to pin and collar disaster of my Seiko. Negatives: For me, the standard leather strap is a throwaway item. Felt very much like an afterthought. Lume is not good, but about what I expected for the dark hands and indices. Lights up well if I blast it with my flashlight, but ambient light will not adequately charge for night time visibility. Lastly, the lug to lug (with the male end links) is pretty long, so it wears bigger than expected on that dimension. All in all, I'm super happy with the watch and would recommend. Awesome value.
