This Islander watch has a classic and tasteful 38mm x 11mm stainless steel case design. The sides are polished and the top has a fine brushed finish. The bamboo dial features applied gunmetal outlined hour markers filled with Super-LumiNova. The dial features a green sunburst background with darker green bamboo running through it. The sleek gunmetal hands are also filled with Super-LumiNova for viewing the time in the dark. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal guards against scratches and provides you with an exceptionally clear view of the gorgeous dial. 

The ISL-199 is powered by a 24-jewel, Hi-Beat (28,800 bph) Miyota 9039 automatic movement with that is accurate and has predictable performance. You can hand wind it and it also hacks (seconds hand stops when crown is pulled out). Power reserve is rated at about 42 hours. The movement is visible via an exhibition window caseback, and it has a custom blue Islander rotor. Usually dress watches only come with 30 to 50 meters of water resistance - the ISL-199 is rated at 100 meters and includes a screw-down crown.

The watch comes with an elegant stainless steel bracelet with a push-button deployant clasp for easy on and off. The bracelet links are solid as are the female end-links. These endlinks allow the bracelet to articulate at the case, increasing comfort. The lug width is 20mm and it tapers to 16mm at the clasp. Sizing is made easier with the use of a screws instead the more common pins.
