This Islander dive watch has a unique tsunami wave dial. The wave dial is fully coated with SuperLuminova for a fully glowing dial in the dark. The MM-Style hands are painted blue to stand out on the luminous dial. The 120-click uni-directional sub-style bezel has a scratch-resistant blue 12-hour marked ceramic insert that is treated with SuperLuminova. The bezel serves as the hour markers instead having markers on the dial. It is also possible to use the bezel to track a second time zone. The dial has enhanced visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective dome sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches. Note: there is no day-date window to interrupt the wave image on the dial.

The ISL-68 has a familiar rounded case with an off-set crown at 4:00. The stainless steel case diameter is 40mm with a thickness of 13.5mm. Tip to tip it is a very wearable 44mm. Note that the lug ends are drilled for easier bracelet to strap changes. The case back has a rendering of Long Island on it along with the Islander name, Island Watch and 200 meter water resistance.

Powering the ISL-68 is a reliable NH36, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound.

The bracelet features all solid links and solid end links. Plus it has a milled scissor push-button flip-lock deployant clasp with three position micro-adjustment. For sizing the bracelet, screws are used for removing bracelet links instead of pins. For sizing the bracelet, screws are used for removing bracelet links instead of pins.

    Solid build, extra fat pins on the lugs, easy to size bracelet with screw-in pins, watch feels like a tank on wrist while looking very-interesting. Getting flashbacks of the play of time on the ocean world planet from the movie - Interstellar. I never get tired of viewing this watch. The 40mm dial sits elegantly on my wrist (7.5) I became an instant admirer of Japanese artist Hokusai’s works ever since my days of working part-time at college art-library. So am very happy, I get to have one of his most iconic pieces on my wrist. At times when I take it off and keep at my desk, resting on the 9 o’clock side, it almost seems that the wave is in motion as a result of gravity. This watch is now my daily wear, simply, love it!

    A unique piece which is beautifully crafted (like my ISL-67). Perfect size and extremely comfortable on the wrist. Bracelet in a different league to Seikos of equivalent (and higher) price. If you like the look of this watch on the screen just wait until you see it in the flesh. Just do it..

    Another knockout, here. I had the Samurai case on my wishlist since it came out, but every time it was in stock I didn't have the spare cash. Then, the week of my birthday, this little beauty comes out. I was worried about the Samurai case not fitting on my wrist (pretty small, 6.25-6.5"), but didn't even hesitate with this one. Same technical specs as my other 2 Islander divers, minus the day/date, plus a full lume dial equals a win for me. I love it.

    The wave dial ISL-68 is a fantastic watch. The fit and finish is top of the line. Wears perfectly on the wrist. It has everything that Seiko should have included on their watches, but then they would have charged 3 times more. Highly recommend picking up ANY Islander brand or maybe all of them

    Always wanted this dial from the first time I saw it on a modded Seiko. This is a great way to get it without a lot of bother and at a great price. Very pleased.

    I love the Wave! The watch has a beautiful appearance and exceptional fit and finish. The face is brightly lumed. The crystal has a great domed contour. The bezel clicks are precise and smooth. The bezel ring numerals and pips are precise. The case sits comfortably on the wrist. The bracelet finish and action equals or exceeds Seiko quality.
