This is a new version of the Seiko automatic dive watch that is nicknamed Samurai. This is a made-in-Japan model or J1. It features a Seiko 23 jewel automatic (4R35) movement, a date display, highly luminous hands and markers treated with Lumibrite for awesome low light visibility, a screw down offset crown, a uni-directional diving bezel with luminous PIP at 12:00, Hardlex mineral crystal and a solid etched, screw-down case back. The 4R35 Seiko movement is self-winding and it can be hand wound and hacked. The movement has a 41 hour power reserve.

Comes on a Seiko stainless steel bracelet with a deployant clasp and diver's extension. And, like the original Samurai the blue dial has a captivating waffle pattern texture. The hands are a new style patterned after the hands found on the Seiko Monster series of watches. This version grey and blue diver marked bezel. It includes manual and a Seiko box.

    Ordered the Japan-made Seiko Samurai during the Black Friday sale. Blue with a two-tone blue and grey bezel, it is stylish and classy. I was afraid the size would be too big for my 6 3/4" (175 mm) wrist, but the down-turned, short lugs make it hug the wrist and fit great! The service was great and Marc and the gang at Long Island Watch are terrific. Great watch and great purchase!

    Delighted with my new Samurai. I have a sub-7 inch wrist but with the short lugs it wears a bit smaller. The patterned dial is a great subtle detail that is revealed in the light. The bezel is easy to grab and action is great, with just enough resistance. Before I received the watch I had planned to put on a Strapcode, but I may keep the stock bracelet as it's pretty nice and the ends match the lugs perfectly. The watch is running about +25 sec/day right now, which is in spec but a little higher than I expected.

    This is my first automatic watch. I really like it, it keeps very accurate time. It is currently about 3 seconds a day slow. I’m completely pleased with that performance for a watch at this level. I look forward to buying more Seikos. Marc was quick to answer all of my emails. I’ll shop here again.

    I ordered the watch from Canada, and was scared of qc issues that Seiko has with chapter ring alignment and the crown position. I made request to mark to check the copy before sending to me to ensure everything is aligned and voila, I received a samurai with no qc issues at all. Now with the watch. It is easily one of the most handsome Seiko Diver out in the market under $1000. On paper it seems large, but actually wears a lot smaller in reality because of the shape of the watch and how the lugs actually point down sharply. It is a substantial but not huge watch. Love this color scheme with the waffle dial. My copy is accurate to +/-2 seconds a day so far so I'm really happy with it. Bracelet is not sarb033 quality but on par with all prospex divers in this price range. Bezel action is good with clicks that aligns well with the indexes, only point knocked off is that the bezel isn't as smooth as the one on my Seiko monster.

    The Samurai is simply awesome! Everything is aligned to perfection, feels very solid, is quite accurate, and a joy to wear. But the real reason why I am taking the time to write this review is because of Marc's excellent customer service. I had a last minute change with shipping requirements, and Marc replied quickly. He helped me make alternate arrangements, and I received the watch earlier than expected. Will definitely buy from Long Island Watch again!
