Spinnaker-IW Fleuss Limited Edition Automatic 43mm Sport Dive Watch #SP-5055-LIW22

Spinnaker-Island Watch Special Limited Edition Fleuss Automatic Sports Dive Watch with 43mm Case #SP-5055-LIW22

This new Spinnaker dive watch is an exclusive limited edition of 50 watches each individually numbered. It was designed in collaboration with Spinnaker and Island Watch. The model SP-5055-LIW22 is part of the popular Spinnaker Fluess collection and it is rated at 150 meters of water resistance.

The 43mm diameter x 14mm thick stainless steel case is paired with a matching all solid-link bracelet with a nicely milled scissor clasp. The textured white dial is accented with luminous hour markers, luminous blue hour and minute hands, and a blue seconds hand with an orange tip. A flat anti-reflective sapphire crystal is scratch-resistant and provides a clear view of the time. A black donut shaped glass (luminous) bezel insert is easily read during the day or dark of night conditions.

The screwed-in caseback is etched with both Spinnaker and Island Watch logos. The NH35 automatic movement is the heart of the watch to provide reliable daily time keeping. There is no date window for a clean look. A blue leather strap is also included. The watch weighs 185 grams. Lug width is 22mm. Screw down crown.

    My First Limited Edition (anything)

Posted by Michael in Virginia on Oct 7th 2021

I primarily bought this watch because it is a limited edition collaboration between Marc and Spinnaker. I've never owned a limited edition anything, so why not start with this one. The watch is a knockout, the face has different colors depending on the angle light shines on it. The texturing on the face is a nice touch and the lume is excellent. The contrasted hands make it very readable at a glance and the red accent on the seconds hand is nice. The watch is not heavy at all and the bracelet feels lighter than one would expect. The only disappointments are only 3 micro-adjusts on the clasp and the bezel (at least on mine) is EXTREMELY stiff to turn (bright side, it cannot be accidentally changed). All in all, a very, very nice watch.

Awesome Awesome watch! This collaboration hit it out of the park. An excellent addition to my collection. You can't go wrong with any of Mark's watches from Long Island Watch!!

    Nice watch. One fatal flaw.

The watch is beautiful. My one complaint is the bezel. It is RIDICULOUSLY hard to rotate, and hard on the fingers. Probably not a smart move, but I sprayed it with WD-40 and it’s still tough. I’m sure the proper thing to do would be to remove the bezel and lubricate, but I’ve never had luck with removing bezels, no matter how many videos I watch. Maybe all Spinnaker’s are that way; this is my first one.

Just unboxed this watch. It is even nicer in the flesh than the pictures. Great collaboration Marc.

    what a slice of heaven

So maybe I had a bit of wine this evening. I can assure you, however, that all subsequent embellishment is solely limited to my words, not my thoughts of this timepiece. I bought this watch soon after his video went live. My reasons were because I love Marc, this watch looked quite beautiful, and the limited nature of this release. The "special" factor. I have been sitting on an Islander gift card for some time. Despite consecutive "banger" releases, I have been waiting for "the one". My dream is to be able to afford every islander release as they arise, but currently I am limited to one choice. I made the correct choice. This watch is inherently "Islander" at its core: Specs that far surpass the price, elegant design, and an element of uniqueness that makes the watch truly special and not "just another watch." The colors are excellent. The blue on the hands is beautiful and highly visible. The bezel blue is very difficult to see in incandescent light (it looks black). The blue appears in sunlight, however, which I very much like. The dial, despite being white in most indirect light, looks quite silver under direct light. Thus, it almost becomes a different colored watch in the sunlight compared to when you're inside. The bracelet is excellent and the included leather strap is comparable. The lume is superb. To be objective, I would like to mention a few cons. The build quality is definitely fitting of a $300 watch. The 'K' in Spinnaker is crooked on the dial and there is a minute dark spot on the dial by the 3-o-clock that looks somewhat like a shadow. This is to be expected for such specs at this price range, so I accept these small flaws. Overall, I find myself staring at this watch throughout the day as a smile creeps across my face. I also take it off frequently to stare at the case back. This purchase has made me so very happy and I am so happy for Marc's elevation within the watch market.
